Nonsense. All factory-sealed genesis games had the plastic over the hanging tab. It's just that the tag was so sturdy in most it broke through easily. What matters is that you see that evident double-lining in the back which pertains to a factory-made plastic seal. I've done reseals myself before, it isn't that easy to do without over heating the case itself. I will be opening it soon enough, no worries. We shall know who's right in the end.

I have two copies of MKII sealed and both have their tabs covered by the plastic.

Those tabs were for hanging and it wouldn't make sense to seal over them. Most SMS and Genesis games were not sealed over the tab, but I hear some were, probably those which came from cheaper factories.

NOT Sega genesis games! I actually worked at Blockbuster as well as Best Buy back in the day. We used to reseal every wholesale box unit of movies and toys, electronics and such. Sometimes we sealed packaged games together as part of a deal. I'm actually very meticulate about this sort of thing. I wouldn't even change around a Genny game box just because I know they don't all look the same. I always strive for originality, if you know what I mean.

P.S.> BTW: All genesis games were sealed over the hanging tab. There is no way you can seal it otherwise. The hanging tab will always have tension and it will protrude. Some factories, the cheaper kind, used less plastic (or simply thinner). There's no reason why a retailer (Such as I was for 9 years), wouldn't be able to pull that tab through without breaking the seal itself. For the most part, there was always an incomplete seal job performed for this very purpose.

I dunno 'bout that. I've never seen excess shrinkwrap that would be hanging if the tab was pulled up by the retailer. Usually the top portion of the box didn't have much sealage, and it sure wasn't torn. I have purchased many Genesis games back when they were new. I have had retailers pull them out of the shipping box they received them in and sell them directly to me. No sealed tab.

I meant a hanging tab, not a shrinkwrap that hangs loose. You're right about the top portion eliminating the sealage. That's the point I'm trying to make, I guess. The plastic should easily give to the tension of the opening "hanging" tab without being destroyed.

...About Subterranea, I guess I'll be opening this gem soon enough. I'll keep you posted of its condition.

I'd imagine that's his daughter. He mentions her in his review of that Sega Club pony game.

    The Club (ps3)
    Sonic Unleashed (ps3)
    ExciteBots (wii)
    MadWorld (wii)
    Broken Sword (wii)
    Opoona (wii)

Funny thing about Sonic Unleashed. What convinced me to pick it up, aside from the $20 price tag, was a demo kiosk, of the were-hog gameplay. It seemed... not that bad.
