Yup, that was Killer Croc on the commercial. I thought it was pretty good. The first story with the kids (a remake of a Batman: The Animated Series episode - which is on the disc as an extra) and the second story are the weakest of the six stories. Definitely pick it up if you're Batman fan.

I guess I favor the version with narration because that's the version I saw with my father in the theaters back in 1982. But you're right, the narration really wasn't needed and was probably added to make you buy into the detective part of the story more. So, do you favor the bluish tint of the Final Cut or the reddish tint of the theatrical/international/director's cut?

Haven't really watched any of the others, so the greenish tint of the final cut is fine and dandy. It's also the only version that got a digital intermediate treatment so it will look sharper than the others. Sound is good, but I think I would miss the Vangelis music at the end of the work print.

I snagged a model 1 Genesis, model 1 Sega CD, a complete copy of Mortal Kombat (Genesis), a Genesis power pack, a standard 3-button control pad and a 6-button control pad off Craigslist for $20. The SCD1 didn't work at first, but it was just a blown fuse, works fine now.

    Resident Evil 3

    Both for Dreamcast.

I get paid in five days, so I can eat the cost until then.

    Holy CRAP!!!

I was out surfing garage sales today and didn't score much of ANYTHING... until I got to the last sale I went to!! There, sitting on the drive, was a TurboGrafx-16 with 9 games! And next to it-- a TurboExpress!

I'd never seen either of these in real life, so I was utterly shocked and knew I had to have them. I asked the guy the price:

"You can have everything for $10."

I had that money out in a flash. And now it's mine. He said he had more games but couldn't find them... but for what I got, this is still probably one of the best TG-based deals EVER... especially with the TurboExpress thrown in!

It all works (even the TurboExpress, though the sound is very soft at maximum... but I think it's because the batteries came out of my GG and might be near-dead), though it all needs a cleaning REALLY, REALLY bad. My hands are getting sticky from touching it. I dunno what the best way to clean it is, though.

    Here's a pic:

    So, an overview:

    Turbo stuff:

    TG-16
    TurboBooster
    3 controllers
    TurboTap
    TurboExpress
TurboVision TV tuner (too bad this won't work in a few months :P)
2 AC adapters (I thought one was for the Express but neither fit it, so I guess they're both for the TG16)
    Composite video cable
    Games: (all without cases :/)
    China Warrior
    Final Lap Twin
    Galaga '90
    King of Casino
    Legendary Axe 2
    Splatterhouse
    TV Sports Hockey
    Victory Run
    World Court Tennis

    Also, other stuff I got:
SimCity 2000 CD Collection (PC) -$1
    Namco Museum Vol. 3 (PS1) - $0.50
and a PC ProPad gameport controller for my old 486. - $1

I am a very happy guy today. What was almost a horrible day of sales turned out to be probably the best find ever.

That is a damn good deal indeed. You should be proud.

I've gotten some sweet deals in my day, but that sort of tops them all...

Meh, in an attempt to quell my annoyance at no longer being able to afford Space Turtle Battleship, I thought I'd post a few of the more interesting things I got recently.

    Click for full size

Japanese 32x games, which include Sangokushi IV, the only Japanese 32x exclusive ever in the world ever! Completely unplayable, but nice to have. Came with a Super 32x too, unboxed and now without a power adaptor (I used a shitty cheap 2->3 pin plug adaptor thing, and it blew up. Yay for burning plastic smells). The lot was £50something shipped.
Also paid about £10 for the SA2 set, nice to finally have one

Another nice (even though my camera skills are pleh) photo. Also pictured is my sealed Schtroumpfs with gingersmurf figure - I have three blister-entombed smurves now, all different - tried & failed to find out if there are more!

    Click for full size

Robotnik is angry. Angry they made him all crap and changed his name forever to Eggman.
Finally bothered to buy a Crash Dummies. It is a silly game.
The blue SORII cartridge was more than I should've paid (£13), especially considering there's no other differences between that & the normal one...

    Click for full size

...ah, but no - I spoke too soon! The CE symbol isn't on the other copies I have. It also came in a new-style case.
    Meow.

Other stuff I couldn't be bothered to photograph:
    *Sega Super System
    - Huge-boxed MS1 set, including console with built in Missile Defense 3D, Light Phaser, 3D Glasses & pads. The 3D games are quite fun, and the short period of "aargh" when you take the glasses off is also enjoyable... in a way.
*Vixen 357 - No manual, and quite probably a sign that I need to stop breaking my "don't buy games with language barrier" rule. Only £3, however.
*Master System games - Space Harrier 3D (came with the console) Zaxxon 3D (loose) Rambo III (can't get the fecker to work right with my TV) Miracle Warriors, and about 5 others.

    Finally:

These are probably the BEST THING I've EVER bought, and I believe that soon all biscuits will be like this.

I want Sangokushi IV. I remember about ten years ago people thought it was rare as piss, and willing to pay $250+ for it.

Wonder if it has a battery... I have the US version of Saturn and while it's a DAMN good game, the save games take up next to all of the free space on the internal ram. So to play it, you need a backup ram cart. But that's OK, since I got one for a pittance.

Try getting some of those wet kitchen wipes/things, the ones used on stained counters and worktops, and wipe the console down (without touching the frazzly electric bits inside, of course). I'd done that before to clean up my PSone a bit. :3
