Picked up 6 Super NES Sports games for $10 at my local pawn shop:
-Extra Innings
-John Madden Football
-Madden NFL '94(x2)
-Madden NFL '95
-NFL Quarterback Club '96
I'm gonna rip out the ROMs in those carts and turn them into games that are actually worth something. John Madden Football has already been converted into the Japanese Super Famicom version of Gradius III. I plan to do the following with the other games:
-Extra Innings: don't know what to do with this one yet
-Madden NFL '94: one copy will become MegaMan 7 and the other MegaMan X
-Madden NFL '95: don't know what to do with this one yet
-NFL Quarterback Club '96: this will become RockMan & Forte translated into English(MegaMan & Bass - I'm gonna need 4 8MBit EPROMs for this)
I will hunt down more of these Sports games on the Genesis next time I go looking through pawn shops and flea markets.
How did you do that Ace??
Heh heh... well, that won't be necessary. I already have a copier unit for that(even though it won't work with everything). Plus, now that I have a proper ROM programmer(which I showed on the previous page), I can actually put those shitty Sports games that flood flea markets and pawn shops to good use.
Do what? Convert John Madden Football into Super Famicom Gradius III? I just got a 29F040 Flash ROM, flashed it with my EE Tools ChipMax ROM programmer, ripped out the ROM on John Madden Football's ROM board and soldered the 29F040 containing Super Famicom Gradius III to the board. I then placed the board inside an empty Super Famicom case I have laying around.
Picked up an N64 game. I'm always looking for more N64 games and this one looked pretty good. I'll get the cart cleaned up and will actually play this when I get home.
You know that's "Superman 64", right? It's considered by many to be one of the worst N64 games ever made. But to be honest, I've never played the game, and I've only ever heard what the AVGN had to say, and we all know he usually overemphasizes on how bad games are.
Let me know what you think of it, as I would love to hear some good things about this game, that is, if there is any.
It's shit, but it will still be enjoyably bad. I beat Dark Castle, so maybe I'll be able to beat Superman 64.
