Speaking of FM on the Mark III, is there a way to turn off/on the FM on the Japanese Master System since it's part of the hardware?

Luckily my 100th Genesis game was not Soldiers of Fortune - it was Phantasy Star IV, which I forgot I'd bought for $30:

And yes, I broke down and bought some of those box protectors for my cardboard games. The sight of them squeezed between the clamshells on the shelf was making me nervous.

It seems PSIV is more common these days. I got a copy almost four years ago for a pittance. haha
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I dunno about how common it is, but CIBs on eBay run $30 to $50 these days as a general rule.

I remember the Sega Genesis Collection mentioned the original MSRP of the game back when it came out on PSIV's trivia section. It then said "Think about how much this collection cost. You're welcome"

Guntz: Ditto on NAM-1975. IMO the best early Neo Geo game, alongside The Super Spy and League Bowling.

JFLY: Nice to see GCCX showing some Sega love. I highly doubt Arino's gonna be there though since he didn't care much for Sega (the GCCX in USA special has him saying how he didn't care about the MD)

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

It's kinda funny too, NAM-1975 was the first ever published Neo Geo game.

Also, League Bowling is an awfully expensive AES game, both in Japanese and English formats.

Hang on... *checks SNK Playmore Neo-Geo Museum site*

Wow, didn't know that! It was apparently one of the first four released for the MVS, alongside some Mahjong game, Magician Lord and Baseball Stars Professional.

Where did you find the plastic shielding?

That is one hell of a find

Today I got a 25" CRT TV with s-video in for $20. It gets better. It has component in as well. Hell yeah.

The AES version of NAM has an NGH number of 001. I'd imagine the MVS cart mask ROMs also have that number on them all as well.

Well that explains the lack of Arino playing anything MD related on the disc... he did play some SG-1000 and Mark III games though.

The best segments on the discs were the interview with Yuji Naka (he played through some of Sonic 1), their visit to various arcades and playing deluxe version of classic Sega arcade games (the deluxe version of Power Drift, wow!), and the Virtua Fighter (Saturn version) tournament held by Arino (who used Kage and won) and the crew.
