Based on my collecting history and the items I own, in terms of collecting CIB (and mint, for that matter), the ease (odds) of finding your pieces is:

Plastic Clamshell Games: (i.e.- Genesis, PS2, DS)

Game > Case > Insert Cover >>>>>> Manual

Cardboard Box Games (i.e.- Some Genesis, SNES, NES, GBA)

    Game >>>>>> Manual > Case

Proprietary (or at least unique) Jewel Case (i.e.- American Saturn, Some PS1, etc.)

Game > Jewel Case >>>>> Insert (Back Cover) > Manual (Front Cover)

    Original Jewel Case: (i.e. U.S. Dreamcast, PS1)

Game ~ Jewel Case > Insert (Back Cover) >>>>>> Manual (Front Cover)

P.S.> I do tend to buy donor cases on the cheap, which should factor in on my opinion.

I'd love to see what you guys have experienced thus far.

Anyone know? Sorry to go on about it, but I couldn't actually find any info anywhere. Also, is it right that any region copy of Street Fighter Alpha 2 on Saturn works in any region console?
    Thanks.

I've been looking for Rez for the PS2 for several months now, so when I found it loose at GameStop for $5 today I didn't think I could afford to be particular about it. Sure, it doesn't "count" in my collection until I at least have the case, but now I can at least play it and see what all the fuss is about.

I also picked up a CIB Rebel Strike for the GameCube for $6.99, since the copy I had was uncomplete and pretty thrashed. At a different GameStop I got the two Untold Legends games for the PSP for $3 each.

At Dimple Records I found four relatively-uncommon SNES carts: Wario's Woods, Yoshi's Safari, Darius Twin, and Actraiser 2 for $5.99 each. I also found a CIB Nights: Journy of Dreams for the Wii for $2.99. I've heard nothing but bad things about this last game, but for $3 I'll take the risk.

I'd say it's worth the $3 at least, if you liked the first game. That's about what I paid as well, and while the game is a bit weak they did a great job on keeping the feel of the original's soundtrack.

today I picked up a complete copy of dragon quest VIII for ps2 for $3.96, I've never tried a dragon quest game other then rocket slime for ds so I figured why not since it was under $4 and complete.

PC Engine and an Avenue 6 pad arrived from Japan today. Still awaiting the arrival of a multitap and Turbo Everdrive.

Today at Goodwill I found an innocuous-looking zippered "game system" case. Inside was a Game Gear with the wall adaptor, car adaptor, and 9 games: Sonic 2, Urban Strike, X-Men, Surf Ninjas, Ecco: Tides of Time, Desert Speedtrap, The Lost World, The Adventures of Batman & Robin, and some crappy baseball game.

    Not too shabby for $20.

That's not bad. In England, I've never ever actually seen a Game Gear, the game shops here don't seem to have those sorts of things. There was one shop that had an entire cabinet near me, but I honestly never thought of buying anything, seeing as I was about 8 years old. I wish I had, there might have been a sealed 32X or CIB Hi-Saturn Navi for £20 for all I know. Shame.
Biting fire will hurt you. You cannot breathe underwater. ATGames are wankshafts, one and all.

On Sunday, I won a Sega Nomad on eBay for £76 all in and it arrived this evening (just the Nomad on it's own - didn't want to pay £150 for a boxed one).

Around the same time as winning the Nomad, I bought an AA battery pack for it from America on eBay - only to discover this evening that it actually came with one (wasn't mentioned in the eBay listing), so, as you can imagine, I was pretty happy (given how hard they are to come across).

Also, the bloke I bought it from happened to work near where I live, so he kindly delivered it to me in person.

They sometimes work, it's very inconsistent. If it were possible, a note should be left somewhere (like next to the attachment option) that images should be uploaded to an external photo sharing site instead.
