Dreamcast Lot Pickup 2013-01-22 by xelement5x, on Flickr

Dreamcast Lot from a random flea market!

Dreamcast Unit (no Power or AV cables)
Dead or Alive 2 (disc only)
    2 Regular controllers
1 VMU (with dead batteries of course)
    1 Phone cable (bleh)
Serial cable for homebrew/backup (odd to find, and don't really know how to test )
Two DC X Skills 2-in-1 Adapters (for Keyboard/Mouse)
    Controller Extension Cable
    Official Dreamcast Arcade Stick
    TopMax Arcade Stick

I'm pretty sure I can find a replacement power and AV cables relatively cheaply if I give it enough time. I tested it all with my existing setup and everything works great!

The serial cable was the odd one out at first until I did some Googling about it, and I didn't know that those one adapters were for keyboard/mouse at first. I really just got it for the Arcade sticks though, they're kind of pricey (around $30 each) and hard to find. I'll probably try and sell the DC plus hookups, DOA 2, VMU and controllers to cover my costs though.

Also, while not really a find, this Oh Mummy homebrew came in yesterday so I snapped some photos to post in here.

I did a quick post detailing my first impressions here.
    Wow, incredible haul...this is NUTS!

I'm mostly jealous of that awesome joystick.

    A pretty decent haul here.

These arrived within the last week or so.

    A few Master System games,

    Some Genesis/Mega Drive games,

Sega PAC with a couple LaserActive branded controllers, and a few loose Genesis carts.
My Laseractive unit is still being repaired so unfortunately this game pac can't be used at the moment.

    Saturn games,

A few DC games as well as some PS1 longbox games,

    Saturn and DC arcade sticks,

A few 3DO games all complete in longbox,

A couple Neo Geo AES games, a few CD games, and a Neo Geo controller pro,

a couple duplicate Neo Geo CD games there, but for the equivalent of just over $30 for that lot, I can't complain,

Nintendo related games and cart adapters.
I was fortunate enough to find those boxed games in mint condition,

    regarding that one SNES game,
it's the first time that I've been able to find a decent US Super Nintendo game to this degree of completeness,

Yeah thanks. The thing now is to find the time to enjoy it.

It really wasn't as much as you may think.

The single most expensive thing there was that Sega PAC. And even though all it's caps have been replaced, I still managed to talk the guy down to a lower price.
If you notice carefully from the pic, the PAC is missing the LaseActive logo/sign from the front of the unit and the cartridge flap is missing it's spring. It may look a little ugly to some but that's not a big deal to me. But importantly those small issues helped in my managing to get that PAC for much less than what I usually see them going for.

Sorry for the delay guys, here are some pics comparing Oh Mummy with an official 32X cart (though it is a repro, the cart is a regular 32X cart)

Like I said in that quick impressions post, it reminds me of a 32X cart as well. In fact, I'm pretty sure the cases were made for regular Genny carts but these homebrew carts don't fit that well in them because of their dimensions.

Is there any purpose to the little "notch" in the side of the cart on the right?

The japanese megadrive has a physical slider that goes into that notch when you turn it on, like in the original model gameboys. It prevents you from pulling the game out when the system is on. Homebrew games include those notches for global compatibility.
    A retarded Sonic.

    I still think that's a dumb idea...

How does one even play Genesis carts on a JP Mega Drive then? Don't you have to open the system up and remove the lock?

Does that work the other way around? Play import games on a US Genesis using a Game Genie?

Yeah you can play imports on your US system via the Game Genie.
Some will boot up right away whilst others will need a region bypass code. There might also be some games which won't work at all. Of that I'm not sure though.
