So much so that a major chain store here will be reducing the Premium bundles to the equivalent of under $100, until stocks last. I have it on good authority that this will happen by the middle of next week. At that price point the Wii U suddenly becomes quite enticing!

    So that sale was today.
Not surprisingly most stores stocks of the Wii U system got sold pretty fast. For the Premium sets I even managed to talk the guy down to around the $75 mark each.
At that price it's almost nuts not to grab at least one unit. I mean worst case scenario you could always put it on evilbay, or whatever, later on and make a bit of a profit as well.

I can understand why the massive sales on the system are happening. It's a simple fact that the console ain't selling, neither are the games. They want loads of people to flock to buy it, so that it can garner some interest in the console and the games.
My one concern though with all this is, will retailers continue to stock the Wii U console once they've sold out of all their inventory? If the retailers are taking the knock on these discounts then it means they are losing money big time with every sale.

So anyways, I managed to nab a couple Premium Nintendo Land game bundles. And one Zombie U Deluxe set as well which also includes that Wii U Pro controller.
Total for all three? The equivalent of $300.

Will probably wrap one up and hold onto it for my nephews Christmas pressie. I'll keep one of them, and the other I'll sell later on to try and recoup if I can most of that $300 that I spent.
All told not a bad deal at all.

    Man, awesome deal!
For $75 I would have jumped on those too. Even if it ends up failing miserably, it will probably gain some value with the upcoming AAA titles Nintendo promised, so, uh, that one unit you're keeping to re-sell, it will probably have 4x the value you payed in a short amount of time. Or you can always keep it as a backup unit if Nintendo manages to get the Wii U back from the grave (which seems almost impossible in Japan already; I think it still has a chance in US).

    Thanks.

As well I realize that SA is almost a non-existent piece of the pie when it comes to worldwide console sales. But it's still kind of disappointing when a big name gaming brand bombs this hard over here. I'm not complaining of the score I made, of course not, but just as to the overall picture as far as Ninty and the Wii U is concerned in this neck of the woods.

So far I've had conflicting reports to the effect that:

"This is being done to get rid of stock so as to not stock it anymore.
They only do this kind of thing if they don't mind taking a huge knock - loss in the sales so that they can just get rid of stock that is not selling and wasting space on shelves.
Basically they are not going to have space for this thing when PS4 and XBOX ONE comes out and will still need space for PS3 and Xbox 360 which are still selling quite well."

    or either,

"The reason for the sale on this is due to the new Wii U Deluxe edition being announced which now comes in white and a new gamepad with a 8 hour battery life.
This version will take over shelf space from the previous Premium bundles"

    HOLY CRAP, DUDE!

Had there been something like this in Montreal, I sure as hell would have jumped on a second Wii U, if only for the sake of having one console stock, and when mods roll in, I will mod the crap out of one of the Wii Us like I did to my original Wii from 2007 (I have a Wii I bought in 2011 which I keep stock, though I may soon get rid of it).

And holy crap, I still have not taken pictures of all the things I got since February, mainly because I'm still waiting for a f***ing Texas Instruments TMS9128 to show up. I'd better get it this week or I will be royally pissed off.

Yeah reading a few of your posts I kinda got the impression that a bone stock gaming system in your household is probably a rare species.

Looking forward to seeing the stuff you bought recently.

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.

These were sold in couple of EU countries and Finland happens to be one of them, which is a neighboring country so I guess that is where the unit found its way to Estonia.

I also picked up the Japanese Afterburner 2 (MD), Galaxy Force II (MD). I have the US Space Harrier (32X) and Afterburner (32X) so I'll be able to confirm or deny that it works with US games. Nobody online seems to know.

2013-05-31 CL Pickup by xelement5x, on Flickr

A nice Saturn Craigslist pickup for pretty cheap:

    Model 2 Saturn with hookups
    Model 1 Saturn Instruction Book
    Model 1 Saturn Pad
Model 2 Saturn Pad (grey JP)
    Analog Steering Wheel
Random Power adatper (24V 180mA, wot?!)

23 CIB Saturn Games, 1 in case missing manual, 2 Loose games, and some AOL trial CD from the 90s.

There's a lot of junk sports games in there, but also some gems. Extra bonus is that most of the cases are in good shape too!

Apologies for the crappy pic quality, I pulled it straight from the CL ad since I didn't want to to take a picture myself. :3

So am I the first person on the internet to buy one of the XE-1 APs? There is 0 info on the thing outside of one page on Sonic Retro, and everybody repeats that info without any additional information. Nobody is sure if US games work, nobody is sure if more games work, nobody is sure if the 32X games listed really works. Crazy!

I can barely find discussion on the thing at all. No impressions. How resistant are the sticks? How well do the games respond? How much fidelity is there in the analog sticks?

Like I said in a previous post, I got 4 games that might work with it: Galaxy Force II and Afterburner II, both JPN and MD, and Afterburner Complete and Space Harrier, both US and 32X. Any other games rumored to work with this thing? Does Outrun?
