Yeah, this CRT does not have any component inputs. It's fairly rare to see that on a CRT here in Europe anyway. All my retro consoles are on RGB SCART now, except the Nintendo 64 which can only go as far as S-Video. I have to say the RGB video quality of the Wii is better than I had expected; it looks a little soft, but I'm used to seeing that from Nintendo consoles in general.

    The opposite here.
No SCART (on any type of TV), but Component was common on CRT's (mid range and higher models) in the late 90's until the mid 00's when LCD's and the like took over.

Yeah, SCART is a European invention, so not surprisingly that never made its way to the US. We didn't have much use for Component before HD came along, as RGB SCART looks just as good if not better than Component at resolutions up to 480i/576i. Here in Europe we mostly skipped the HD CRT phase, and to most people here the switch to HDTV is directly associated with the switch to LCD/Plasma flat panels. That is why we didn't get Component inputs on our TV's until flat screens became the norm. Thank god we have one convenient universal standard with HDMI now.

A friend sent me a nice IDE hard drive for my phatty PS2 to use along with hdloader, plus some random swag too

And, I got some Neat PCE magazines and a Super Famicom mag about Popful Mail. The PC Engine Fan ones are from late in the life of the system and cover pce and pc-fx games so they have been super fun to look through! The SFC one has some cool Popful Mail promo art I've never seen as well, one more thing for the Popful horde!

Just starting a small SMS collection (just got a junker SMS2 and fixed it up + RGB modded), already picked up Rastan, Sonic 1&2, R-Type, Asterix, Master of Darkness, Alien 3, Sagaia. Collecting this stuff is cheap and easy in PAL territory!

Recently also received a Game Gear with Sonic 1 and Sonic Labyrinth, and also an Atari Lynx 2 in need of some repair.

This past week was a good one. A little bit of everything.

Karnov's Revenge/Fighters History Dynamite. A decidedly average fighting game that borrows a lot from Street Fighter 2. The game controls like a dream however and has some really good graphics.

EVERDRIVE!!! Got this for $50 shipped full loaded!! It even has the System Cards so I can finally play that Awful copy of Altered Beast I have.

3DO. Never had the top loader version. Years ago I had the front loader. Cool system, I really love The Need for Speed. So nostalgic and back in the 90's my mom had a Supra so I begged for this game so I could at least try to drive it.

Sorry for the heavy pics but it was a partially good week.

Small piece of trivia - the cat is the same one who has always been my avatar on this board. Most people can never figure out what it is. It's this kitty, in a spin-dash position.

Also snagged another rarity today for $20. Apparently it's getting way up there in price.

Kickmaster eh, I remember buying that a few years ago for under $10 at my local Play N Trade, sad to see how far up the price has come for it. Solid game that I believe was not made by Taito, but if I'm not mistaken Kid, or some other developer did the game for Taito.

I finally got a Tiger Road hucard at a non-gouge price which made me quite happy. This completes the set since I had gotten the manual from a friend awhile back and had been trying to find a chip at a decent price. A World Class Baseball case was sacrificed along with the blood of the Sparky repro sticker for the spine, but I have no regrets. :-P

Now I only have a few more titles I'm looking for to match up with my manuals!

@WarmSignal- What's the deal with Nightmare Princess, is that like a sequel to Deception IV or like an enhanced version of the game?

Yeah, it basically is the same game with a new quest mode.
