    Default Dreamcast import questions

I recently bought a Dreamcast off of ebay. And I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure that it can play burned games, I was wondering, is it possible for me to burn the Utopia boot disc onto a standard CD so that I could get a Japanese version of Marvel VS. Capcom 2 and play it?

    Does Utopia even play MVSC2?

I know it can be hit or miss. Try and get a burn of the DC-X and it should work. If the DC was made before October 2000, you should be golden to play CD-R's and CD's on it.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I thought that Utopia was universal! Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure it can play CDR games because it came with 4 official games and 2 burned ones, I'm pretty sure that if it didn't burned games, the guy wouldn't have included them.

    I know that:

    Quake III Arena
    Unreal Tournament
    And Daytona USA 2001

All had their online capabilities removed from the PAL release in the UK, where there any more with features missing when the games came over here?

It's moot these days. The games aren't playable online, except the US Quake 3, which had some different online connecting than the PAL version, so it is still online, and will ALWAYS be online.

I dunno, but if you really want to play Quake 3 online... buy the US version, or buy the PC version and make sure it's not the latest version, so you can play with DC players.

The US version of Quake 3 is rather common and pretty cheap. UT on the DC kinda attracts high prices, and kinda sucks as there is no assault mode, and Daytona USA 2001 is great, but be careful of the handling!

If we're talking about online gaming for Dreamcast, I have two resources for you:

I have a question, how is dialup while playing online on the Dreamcast? I heard that Sega had programmed their games so that hardly any lag occured.

I've never actually played DC online, so I can't say.
