No Youtube is worse, the rest of the Internet is divided into fan communities. Youtube is divided into individual users that try to gather a fan base around them.

The difference is if you get your facts wrong within the fan communities you can bet your ass you'll get tons of fans correcting you, since Youtube is separate from fan communities there is no check against people making stupid statements.

But there is a very good chance, especially with larger fan communities as the odds are much higher for the community having fans with encyclopedic knowledge on the subject.
