Default best version of spiderman x-men?

I'm sure most of you have played Spiderman X-men: Arcade's revenge for some system at some point. Most people consider it a pretty bad game because its IMPOSSIBLY difficult, but at the same time parts can be pretty fun and the music is AWESOME. I remember at some point I was able to beat quite a few of the levels without cheats, but I don't remember which version it was (it was on an emulator some time ago). Is there any difference in difficulty between the SNES and Genesis versions? Anyone out there play it enough to have a preference? I know it was ported to the Genesis from the SNES, but I think it actually runs a little smoother on the Genesis version and the music arguably sounds even better. I just thought I would ask which version was best here since Sega fans tend to be less fanboyish than Nintendo fans which would probably just say "OMG, SNES version is TeH BetTaRz!"

    WTF

From what I remember, both versions were exactly the same. No differences could be noticed between them at all.

The only one I got to finish was the MD version - I love that Gambit stage, especially the music. And it's nice to see Cyclops in the 1st X-factor outfit.

Too bad the game really sucks overall.

yeah, it kinda does, but I used to play it on the Genesis at my cousin's house alot and its cheap. Its really worth it just to play for the music. Personally I think X-Men Mutant Apocalypse for the SNES was the best 2D X Men game, though many claim it is garbage also.

Mutant Apocalypse is cool, but the best for me is still the first X-Men for the MD.
I don't know why, it just feels edgier than X-Men Clone Wars despite the weird scrolling. Level design for the Sentinel and Mojo stages is incredible. And the difficulty is HARD, worthy of the best X-Men struggles in the comic books.

"Wolverine: Adamantium Rage" (Genesis, SNES, both versions ARE different games done by different devs) is a heavily underrated game, especially the Genesis version which got blasted for horrible controls. Granted they downright SUCK at first, but you completely get a hang of them the game becomes much better. I'm probably one of the few people in the world who's mastered the controls of this game, much less BEAT the game. I should do a speed run and post it up on YouTube.........someday.

well, after some emulator time I've answered my own question and I think the SNES version is better. Its not any fault of the Genesis, but just the fact that it was developed for SNES and ported over, poorly, leaving enemies at the wrong level, etc. which just makes the game even more cheap and difficult. So, if you have both systems, I'd get the SNES version, and probably pick up a game genie too b/c this game is HAAAARD and really long for not having passwords.
