Just imagine how vast and awesome Sonic levels would be on one of these new fangled Wii consoles. There could be so many different routes and secrets, it would be akin to Sonic 3 & Knuckles on steriods.
3D Sonic = fail
I love 2d, yes yes yes!!!
2d sucks, the graphics were stupid, they ain't not got no texture maps
cant make my mind becoz a witch stole my brain and Im waiting for my friend Dorothy to take me to Oz
I love the 2-D games, and I admit I really love some of the ersatz 3-D effects that programmers used to fake 3-D like in slipheed.
I really love 2-D games and I'm never going to buy fully into the 3D generation. However, I like some 3D games for my Saturn like Resident Evil, Grid Runner (which wouldn't be quite as interesting in 2D), Loaded, Sonic R...I also like the 2.5D method in Bug/Bug Too.
They all have their place...but when it comes down to shmups and Run and Guns...2D will always reign supreme. There is not a single 3D game out there that can come even close to competing with Metal Slug, Radiant Silvergun or the Thunderforce games. Though RS uses some neeto polygonal effects.
Sometimes 3D does add some new dimensions, I for one enjoyed Lemmings 3-D.
But who am I, I have the two greatest 2-D systems of all time: Sega Saturn & the Neo Geo CD. We all know Saturn had 3D capabilities, but its 2D games are the best, bar none.
I also must agree with you on Sony, I hate Sony, just as much as I hate Nintendo. Nintendo & Sony love gimmicks, of which Nintendo is the worst offender.
if the Wii could talk : "I'm a gamecube with annoying & useless but cool white controllers and even crappier games."
The Wii scares me even more because all its peripherals are white, which reminds me of apple products, and I feel that Apple ANYTHING is horrible. But I digress...
