Yeah, like the Thermos... it was invented in Germany, to keep drinks cold in the summer, but people thought it was stupid and useless... I mean, there already are icecubes...

so the inventor sold the patent, and after a while it was discovered, that the thermos is also able to keep drinks HOT as well!

Therefor, nowadays, the stupid thermos is totally forgotten...
oh wait a minute... It isnīt! It was also improved upon since then!!!

My point is, sometimes the general public doesnīt realize the full potential of a new idea until somebody comes along, realizes itīs potential, and improves upon it!
The funny thing about an oxymoron is, even if you remove the ox, there'll always be a moron. The Question Remains: Y?

    Damn I need a thermos...
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I wish there was a second NeoGeo-like system. It's like home consoles completely skipped arcade quality games and went straight to 3D.

Errrr Arcades went onto 3D, consoles just caught up. Lots of people bought a Playstation to play Ridge Racer, Time Crisis etc. Lots of Saturns most wanted games were arcade ports, Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter, House of the Dead, Virtua Cop etc. And the Dreamcast is very close to the Naomi arcade platform and had tons of its games, actually all Sega's home consoles are based on arcade hardware Sega used.
Oh and there was a second Neo Geo system - the Hyper 64. Consoles didn't just skip 2D for no reason, people wanted 3D because it was different, so thats what arcades and consoles gave them.

I hear tons of people on the internet lament the fact theres no 2D anymore, but there are lots of 2D games made, especially for the handhelds. If the people who moan about the lack of 2D games don't bother finding out about or buying new 2D games, then they shouldn't be surprised that even more aren't made. And theres thousands and thousands of old 2D games to check out, do you have a Neo Geo? how about a Saturn and import cart?

1.) they are very far and few
2.) the media always ridicules them for having bad graphics
3.) they are only sold in very few stores because most stores don't even bother selling them

Which "the media" are you referring to,specifically? The news that don't take videogames seriously (only when they are corrupting our children)? Or the videogames-magazines? If so, which ones? And do you mean in general,or do you mean specific consoles?
