Hellfire PAL version

Hey everyone, I stopped by my local thrift store and found Hellfire for $2, I didn't realize it was a European game until I got to the car.

Anyways, I've tested the PAL rom on an emulator and ran it in US mode and it worked. Also the game was released in 1991 so I don't believe it has a lockout.

The game was pretty filthy but I cleaned it up with isopropyl alcohol and all I get is a black screen on start up. So I'm thinking that the cartridge is dead, are there any other known cleaning/trouble shooting tips to get a game running?

You can try using a pencil eraser.

first pencil eraser and then alcohol, works best for me

Tried cleaning it like 5 times with an eraser and alcohol with no luck =/

Ah well, it was only $2 anyways.

That sucks. I just got my second copy of bonk for pc engine and it does not appear to work either. I would try after cleaning it again to run it through a game genie. Sometimes that will help. I have a couple loose games that Ive cleaned that wont play except through the game genie.
