I don't know about the Genesis version of Out of this World (Another World for you Europeans!) but the SNES version actually had a loading screen for each level. I shit you not it took a good 30 seconds (or so I recall) to load up anything!!!

The Sega CD version of Out of this World is actually faster than the SNES version.
Weren't there a couple of N64 games with load times?
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
That's messed up. I had no idea so many SNES carts had actual loading times, especially worse than a CD!
The Genesis version has a few brief pauses (approx. one second) but nothing like what you're talking about on the SNES.I don't know about the Genesis version of Out of this World (Another World for you Europeans!) but the SNES version actually had a loading screen for each level. I've also noticed that some of my Nintendo 64 games have load times, particularly, the entire San Francisco Rush series and Star Wars Rogue Squadron. Both have blank screens that appear: in the Rush series, it's in between races, and in Rogue Squadron, after selecting a mission/ship, but the latter has much longer load times. I believe Gradius III on the Super NES also has loading screens in the form of that odd white graph that comes up when you power on the Super NES and the "Start" screens when you start a game or respawn. What's odd is that I noticed loading times in Thunder Force IV(the blank screen when you start the game/use a continue), and this is one of the later games on the Genesis. What could these games be doing that it brings up the load times(quite possibly poor coding for Gradius III, as it's one of the earliest Super NES games)?
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.
Then we set about developing killer games.

Apparently crazy taxi for the gba has some loading.

Im not sure if the arcade version does it, but strider on the genesis when he first hang glides in there is a pause for 1.5 seconds that I always thought was strange.
Midnight Resistance has pretty bad pauses during gameplay to load new sections. I believe the arcade version even had this problem.
I think that might have to do with midnight resistance being a graphical masterpeice
Well, it DOES have 8 MEGA POWER.

I just played through Fantasy Zone in Magic Engine and there is a half second load in-between each of the bosses on the final stage. It's not much, but it's also a 2 meg HuCard.![]()
