What Madden did you like the best? I personally thought 96 was horrible with 98 being the best.

I like the 94 engine. Actually most of them are decent, and if you think about the original in that time frame (think of it either having JMF or Madden) and its really good. I will agree that 96 is the worst one though.

There was a guy on here that I played with over the internet that modded the original madden and it was pretty fun.

I would definitely put 94 or 95 right behind 98, 96 was just too fast and different from the rest. I give them credit for at least trying to improve on Madden every year unlike the shit they put out year after year on the PS2/3.

I got Bill Walsh football today and after playing one game, it's great!

The sound and graphics are very similar to Madden '94 but it's got an even better playbook and the control seems even tighter.

I'll see if I can get Bill Walsh '95 cheap.

Sports are nice but they are a distraction from the real world and if they are obsessed about may cause many relationships to break up due to lack of communication of other subjects.

You'd better believe it. BWCF is a slower/smaller player wise version of Madden 94 without a regular season mode. I just submitted a review of this game that goes pretty in depth about it. Its a fun game that is very easy to grasp and enjoy.

BWCF 95 takes that all to the next level. Its absolutely amazing. I could go on forever.

I only remember playing Bill Walsh a couple times, I'll have to play it again so I can contribute to the conversation.

If anyone's interested, I tried uploading a scan of Bill Walsh Football from an old GamePro magazine (Sept 1993). I hope it goes through and it's readable.

Awesome find! Do you have a lot of those old magazines? I was given a subscription for my 14 or 15th birthday but I have since thrown them out, stupid, huh?

I have a few GamePro's from '93 and '94, a MegaPlay (awesome), and a bunch of Sega Visions that I stumbled on. Yea, I also threw out my (now) treasured EGM's from '91 to '95 with those annual system game reviews. Wish I had them back Atleast I have the games to play so it's really not a big deal.

Anyway, a couple more scans, including one of my all-time favorite Sega sports game - madden '93 + Bill Walsh '95 and Sega College Football.

BTW, I have a few cool but crappy little videos of some nice Sega football plays on Youtube. Here's a link for those interested...

Nice vids, they were fun to watch but it must have been a pain in the ass holding the camera and playing at the same time!
I have been looking for an Electronic Gaming Monthly from November 1994 featuring NHL 95. It was given it's highest rating for a sports game and I wish I hadn't thrown it out.

Boy, this is great stuff. I absolutely love this! Thanks guys!

I can see how NHL 95 was the best 95 sports game (released in 94, remember). I would make a case for BWCF 95 though. The only other hockey games released for sega that year were either mediocre or bad (NHL All Star Hockey 95 and Brett Hull Hockey 95).

Another good underrated hockey game is Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All-Stars. It doesnt have the League license, and the hits are a little comical. Its like the ice doesnt have enough friction. But I really liked it 10 years ago and its pretty fun.

Usually I just take a quick video of the instant replay, which is especially good on the Genesis Madden series.
If I had EGM November '94 i'd scan the review for you.
You know, I never even played NHL '95. Usually just '93 and '94. I've got a full review of NHL '94 and I think '93. Let me know if you want a scan of them.

    Sure man. Post em!

I thought 93 was too slow and 94 was one step away from being the massive epic god of hockey on the genesis. However some gamers think that 94 is superior - I dont like it because it runs on the original NHL engine, though it has the amazing Ron Barr on it. But 95 does too!

    Ron Barr FTW!

    You got it.
Gotta hit the sack early tonight but i'll get them on here tomorrow.
Looking forward to that Bill Walsh Football review - i've just started to get familiar with it but after a couple of games I completed some great running and passing plays. Good stuff!
