I'm a Ron Paul supporter. He was right all along.
McCain or Obama, it is and will be a disaster.
I prefer Obama simply because he is the least likely to attack Russia.

    Obama is a neofascist

    McCain is a reationary

McCain is the lesser of two evils because hes going to be a lame duck the minute he gets in office. Divided government is our savior. If I do change my vote to republican I will do it to ensure that we have a president who will hurt the U.S. people the least. If Obama gets in he will have the full support of the congress to pass any bill his wallstreet backers want him to. Meaning looting and pushing the citizens into serfdom even faster.

I know this sounds crazy but McCain doesnt have the grassroots support to sway the congress to vote for his insane programs and wars. Obama will have a free ride. Democratic President with a Democratic Congress will inevitably be very dangerous to the normal citizens.

Also I gave money to the Ron Paul Campaign and the Mike Gravel Campaign. Both of those individuals should have came together at the end for an Independent run. I dont agree with all the free market ideas Ron Paul was talking but him and Gravel would have been the saviors of this country, No question about that.

Ron Paul has the experience of third party/independent run. He run in 1988. You don't have access to the media, since the people who set the rules are more than happy with the broken two parties system, which allow them to pull the strings. The least of two evils . Wow nice democracy.
Ron Paul and Nader came together for a press conference to denounce it all. watch this

The irony is that all those candidates agree on the most important issues which McCain and Obama never talk about! McCain and Obama talk about lipstick and pigs

Third parties won't have any power in this country except as spoilers unless the Constitution is amended to change the first-past-the-post plurality system of electing politicians.

But the two party system has advantages. It leaves out extremists (socialists, fascists, nationalists/racists) and makes the government more stable (look at Italy if you want to see the other extreme).

If anyone is of need a presidential system it is Italy. Good lord how many times has the government fallen there? What is now 68 or 69 times now? Parliament just does not work there. At least they could follow the French example. No wonder wonder decedents of Mussolini are getting into power, they just want their trains to run on time again.

Obama is a fascist and a racist. Obama was a member of a race based synthetic religion. "United Church of Christ" a Ford Foundation funded religion which is created to make fissures between ethnicities. Obama is the leader of a grassroots wallstreet controlled movement to short-circuit normal political systems. Corporate media, smear campaigns, environmentalist green shirts.

McCain is a nationalist, waving chinese made american flags and talking about invisible terrorists under your bed. "Wave your american flags faster!" I will protect you against the invisible boogey-man. America's great stay the course!

The two parties you speak of are all controlled by one thing. Wallstreet corporate international interests!

And Mike Gravel is not crazy! Hes the only reason why your not dead for nothing in the middle east. Him and his colleagues stopped the draft. You have your arms and legs because of "Crazy" Mike Gravel without him they would have been incinerated in a road side bomb.

Virtually all Republicans are nationalists. They use the term "patriot" to try and give it a good spin.

I remember how after 9-11 every critic on the government was labeled "un-american" for a while. That was more frightening than the terrorists. Nationalism is a thing you have to be carefull with not to let it grow out of proportion.

Patriotism is not be a bad word. To just be patriotic just means to love ones country. Nationalism is to say "Not only do I love my country but is better then yours" and that is when things become scary. They really did drag that term through the mud though. The right did pull out the "you are with us or against us" card which I thought was pretty nasty.

I can't remember who said it, but one of the founding fathers said something along the lines of "you can be patriotic and question what your government does".

I wish I had saved that quote as it summed things up nicely.

    Yeah, Republicans just love America.

Unless you happen to live in an urban area, or on the coasts. Then you're not really American and therefore don't count, because you're not part of the "real America" or the "heartland".

Funniest election news I heard today was when a McCain surrogate said Palin "wasn't from the world of the coasts".

Uh, Alaska is surrounded on three sides by water, d00d.

I think there is such a thing as being overly-pessimistic. The government isn't evil, it's just flawed. Remember, this is a represenative government, you have the power to change it.

That being said, no matter how much I hate the electoral system and a two party system, esb09 is right, they're there for a reason. Unless a third party completely kills both mainstream parties, it's impossible for them to win the whitehouse.

I could be talking out of my ass here (it wouldn't be the first time), but I believe that if no party gains the majority of electoral votes, the decision goes to a congressional vote. The result of which would depend on the controlling party.

This may be an extreme example, but what would happen if a Hitler-esque politician won over the masses and pulled off an election victory? There's protection there in the form of the electoral system. This opens up a HUGE can of worms. Like the fact that we live in a democracy, and therefor if that's our decision, then that's what should take place.

    Deep shit.

Oh, and Obama shouldn't be deemed "racist" based on what church he attended. That's just silly.
