And that's not what I said, I just think that it's unfair to judge a person based on what church they sat in. I attended a Catholic church that was very clear on social issues regarding abortion and gay rights, yet I disagreed with them.

Not only that, but I have yet to see anything in Obama's former church's positions that I can identify as racist. One pastor making one questionable comment off-hand during one sermon does not mean the entire congregation is racist or that the church holds any racist ideology.

That guest pastor that made those controversial comments about Hillary Clinton was white. They can't be that racist if they let white pastors give guest sermons. The fact that it's a black congregation doesn't make it automatically racist against white people.

He seems pretty nuts to me. While he brings out some good points, comments like the "United States of KKK" do not win him any favors.

This may be an extreme example, but what would happen if a Hitler-esque politician won over the masses and pulled off an election victory? There's protection there in the form of the electoral system. This opens up a HUGE can of worms. Like the fact that we live in a democracy, and therefor if that's our decision, then that's what should take place.
Bring down representative democracy and bring up participative democracy and make people vote on every matters through the Internet and Brick and Mortar buildings.
No more politicians, just technical people whose job is to implement people's vote. No more smearing. No more black kid hidden in the closet.

Yeah I hated when the media made a huge deal out of that pastor's comments. I thought he was a black guy though, or at least the one I watched was. I went and listened to what he actually said and it did not offend me at all, the media just turned it into a bunch of bs propaganda. I actually agread with him in some respects if I remember correctly, but its been awhile. What do Obama supporters think about him not being willing to address all the patrior act crap? He really fails to impress (me at least) by acting progressive but being unwilling to change anything important as well as being somewhat of a closet war monger. Obama is not interested in holding the Bush aministration responcible for the many illegal activities that led our nation to war. I like what Dennis Kuchinich is trying to do in regards to trying to impeach Bush and Cheney and to hol;d them respocible.

I thought it was hilarious when Jesse Jackson was on some news show and thought he wasn't being recorded and whispered to someone next to him that Obama "talks down to black people." and that he was "going to cut his balls off." I had to keep replaying the clip of it because it was so awesome.

I have always thought voting on issues instead of on fake personalities would be a great idea but there is always ways around things.

I agree but we have a few hurdles to get over before we can change anything.

    1. Free Speech zone (Unconstitutional)

    2. Police brutality during protests

    3. Threat of arrest and being put on a "Terror" watch list

    4. Giant multi-nation corporation who give the politicians the orders who then inturn pass laws to limit your "power" and the police mindlessly follow it.

Well Obama's former pastor is black, but at his church there was a guest pastor (who is white) a while back who made some disparaging comments about Hillary Clinton during his sermon. This was back when the primaries were still going on. The media made it into a big thing, and that was what led to Obama finally officially withdrawing from his church completely. But really, it was a bunch of brouhaha over nothing. The guy basically just called Hillary Clinton a crybaby.

I too like Dennis Kucinich. But voting on issues? Not gonna happen anytime soon, especially not when it comes to the presidential election.

Well, Hillary Clinton *is* a crybaby.

She is also someone who will do or say anything to "stay in the game".

Man if the US gets into it with Russia (like they seem to be trying to do) prepare to get nuked no joke. Russians said after the gulf war that they would have to resort to nuclear exchange with the US if said conflict were to happen because they could not match us with traditional military power. Im not too up to date with the current pres candidates take on what they intend to do about the current situation with Russia. The US media seems to be on an antiRussian kick.

Do you happen to have a link where Russia said something of that nature? I'd like to see it.

He was awarded the Legion of Honor by French President Francois Mitterrand. Putin was pissed about the missle shield. There was talk of pointing Russia's missiles back at Europe. I can't find any Gulf stuff though.

I can't vote on this, since I'm from Norway, but if I could've voted my vote would go to Obama. I sincerly hope that McCain/Palin don't win this election, the world is a bad enough place already...

In the words of the immortal M.C. Hammer:

That's word, we pray, pray, pray
We got to pray just to make it today
I said, "We pray", pray, ah yeah, we pray, pray
We got to pray just to make it today, that's word, we pray

    Let's pray...

I transfered one of my threads from another message board over after reading your reply. I hope it starts a lively discussion about these recent situations.
