Which "Rioters" are you talking about? The police provocateurs? or the anarchists that are funded by the intelligence foundations?

Their whole purpose is to make free speech / right to assemble advocates look bad.

    Lies!
What's the point in talking politics on a message board if not to flame everybody who takes things far too seriously?

I don't want to make the mistake of getting angry during a debate that should remain civil.

People do take things far too seriously, and I am certainly guilty of this on occasion. But my hypocrisy only goes so far and I refuse to take it too seriously and I don't want people taking me too seriously so I'm backing out now before people decide they hate me because of something that really is meaningless (i.e. my opinions...) So in order to remain civil, I have withdrawn the above.

I thought you had a good point. I would be scared too if provocateurs were running around starting clashing with the police and destroying public property. I would definitley want a patrol car on my block watching for anything out of the ordinary.

I missed the original comment. I actually thought this thread was incredibly civil for one about politics.

Same. Funny that political discussions are way more civil on a retro gaming forum than on 99% of political forums/blogs on the internet (or even real life).

I must say that eventhough I cannot agree on many things of American politics, and eventhough for me voting Republicans will always seem absurd, that this thread has shown me that people actually do think about politics in the US; I always thought waving flags and foam fingers and wearing big red-white-and blue hats was as far as political thoughtfulness goes in the US, but you have proven me wrong!

Thx, and if you ever decide to become a colony again just call me! :P

How do I reply to this? Well first I have to say I am happy that you now know that Americans arent all flag waving troglodytes BUT not to burst your bubble; there are still many drooling acolytes that worship at the altar of the doomed post 9/11 policies of the financial elites who run this country.

So you are correct in noticing that some Americans are free thinkers and still able to use critical thinking skills but most of the flock are just like the stereotypical goosesteppers that were so prevalent in your society 70 years ago.
