The animations in both games look exsactly the same.
Genesis wins due to Blast Processing
Street Fighter championship edition is better and the control thanks to the six button controller is great. It will hold a place in my heart because it was a gift from my parents.
That's because they are; the SNES SFII ports were developed first and went on to be the basis for all of the other 16-Bit SFII ports. Although technically it was the PCE port of SFII: CE (which came out before SNES Turbo & Genesis SCE) that first introduced the sprite sets and backgrounds that would go on to be re-used for future 16-Bit SFII ports.......the original SNES port of World Warrior was THE very first 16-Bit port of SFII, but it had less animation than future ports and animation that, like in the coin-op World Warrior, would be revamped/discarded later on...........like Sagat's palm tree!
WISE FWOM YO GWAY! (Altered Beast)
Back to talking about controllers:
I recently got an ASCiiWARE fighter stick (SG6), and once you get used to it, it's a beast. 6 rapid fire buttons, an auto fire switch for the Start button, and a stick with adjustable sensitivity. I don't plan on giving it up anytime soon.
Yaa its not too bad, kinda small base on it. Hori fighter stick owns it tho. Best genesis arcade stick. If I knew how to upload pictures I would do comparisons of all the sticks I have
That help ya?PHP Code:

For this game:
SNES > Genesis in graphics
SNES > Genesis in sound effects
Genesis > SNES in music
Genesis > SNES in control

I actually included links to download the full quality videos, but they disappeared for some reason. Maybe links are no longer allowed in descriptions?
Anyways, I had been holding off on releasing this until I finished a few other things I wanted to launch with it. But since it is already being discussed, here is my crazy over the top Street Fighter II' MD vs PCE vs SFC comparison which is so detailed that it would make AirRaidX blush-

You won't find any biased judgements putting one version's stage over another because of more apples than oranges, only the full facts of what makes each port unique.
About the only aspect not covered at this time is gameplay, which in all honesty is not as radically different as most people make it out to be. There's no point judging a port's gameplay solely based on the system's stock controller since there are many quality alternatives for each.
I disagree with many of the points in Night Driver's comparison, but I won't point any of them out since it's still a very entertaining article.
I also started a thread for my comparison, that should soon have comments from people of various interests (different biases.
Heavens I just can't decide I love them all!(Dries eyes with a hanky)
I like the Genesis version of SF2 the best because it is more Genesisy than the others. The other versions just didn't have enough "Genesis" in them. Even the arcade fails at incorporating this wonderful feature.Originally Posted by Black Tiger
This SNES version is better if all you have is the original stock controllers that came with the system. Just make the b a buttons medium and heavy kicks and the x and y buttons medium and heavy punches. Does anyone actually use the light kick or punch? The thing with the Genesis is you had to buy that 6 button controller.
I grew up with the Genesis version SF2 Champion Edition. The SNES version of SF2 Turbo is just as good. I've got both now and the SNES version reminds me of the arcade more for some reason. While the Genesis version reminds me of my living room in the mid 90s.
I'm not a SNES-hating Sega/Genesis fanboy or anything, but the SNES'ishness of the SNES SFII Turbo honestly makes the game less appealing to me. I like the SNES SSFII just fine though.
The Genesis version actually has most of what the SNES version does but the PCE version doesn't and vice versa, plus cool unique features like the arcade intro cinema, animated continue faces and Group Battle mode.
It's only technically limited in some ways with its graphics and sound. If its aesthetic limitations were brought up to par with the other ports, it'd probably be considered the most complete home version.
Today I added screenshots the censored Genesis intro-
