I get it, take it home and set it up with my modded system, pop in Gradius Gaiden and voilá! No image at all. Sounds pretty nice though.
Does anything Sony make fucking work?![]()

Yeah, I hear a lot of those are defective out of the box. However, when they do work, they look pretty nice. One of these days I'm going to take mine and use it in a mod project...
Forget their intentionally awful support, buy another one to increase sales and contribute to their grand market domination plan.
I called their support, and the guy told me it was still under warranty. I was giddy until I couldn't find the receipt.
I'm going back to K-Mart tomorrow to see if they have any left. I'll buy one, switch it out for the broken one, and get my money back. I really want that sexy little screen!
I will say this though. In over 20 years of gaming and owning just about every console under the sun (including several Jaguars and a 3DO), I've NEVER had anything 1st party be DOA. I knew Sony's hardware sucked, but right out of the box? Damn.

Ugh. I never understood how some looser like Ashton Kutcher could be come popular....
Hey, that sucks... but I've never any problems with Sony hardware. But that's just an older playstation.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...
Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

In terms of Sony mishaps, over the years I've had two PS1 Dual Shock controllers give out. The 'X' and 'R1' buttons just crapped out on me. Strange, though, how I have two original PlayStation controllers that have worked perfectly since their 1996 manufacture.. quality shit, those Dual Shocks.
Dual Shock controllers weren't made in 1996, silly.
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
Erm, I didn't say they were..
See, the two original-design PlayStation controllers I've had from the beginning work flawlessly, it's the Dual Shocks I bought later that bungled it up proper.
sony has always been questionable.
an old sony walkman I had was flimsy as hell, my PS1 never worked properly, and my PS2 started breaking down the moment I started using the vertical position. . .never to improve.
Now we have the fiasco with Sony's new anti-copy software on their music CDs locking up compters with catastrophic results.
Would you fucking believe that another dual shock has broken on me? This time it was a Dual Shock 2, and it's malfunctions are many. Since this morning, the X and R2 buttons are constantly on, and it would appear the down and left segments of the d-pad suffer from a similar fate. I noticed a bit of weirdness last night while playing some We Love Katamari.. I was being ejected from menu screens against my will, making saving a serious challenge. Then this morning, my brother was firering up a game of We Love Katamari himself and couldn't even load his save, as X behaving as 'accept' wasn't doing its job. Loading up Vice City let the fubar'd controller go to town (constant run, constant attack, spinning around in circles automatically). I don't think there's any saving this one...
In my history of gaming, the only other controller issues I've ever had were button II on a TurboPad occasionally becoming unresponsive, and the same deal with a NES pad's B button. Unless I carry with me bad controller juju, Sony Dual Shocks fucking suck!
The only controller issue I ever had was with a Saturn pad; I played it so much that the face buttons basically wore out. They didn't stop working, but they got really mushy feeling.
Come to think of it, that happened with my Genesis too -- the B button wore down from excessive use. I wasn't abusive of it or anything, I just played lots and lots of games back then. And I only used the B button when I played Sonic.
