Yeah, but that's the thing. It takes an entire turn just to heal 40 points. Then he comes along with poison cloud which knock 30+ off of you and then he knocks several more while you are curing it. Not to mention you lose many points by default each turn until you are healed. In other words, it's hard to get in many hits on him because you're too busy trying to stay alive. This part of the game should have been tweaked better.

I'll try what you suggest and heal often.

Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment. I had the poison system rewritten so that it actually does recurring damage during battle, rather than just once (when it first hits) and then while walking on the map. It adds an extra layer of challenge to the game as a whole, but has the perhaps ill-effect of unfairly increasing the difficulty of that first boss battle against the Black Bear Demon.

The first couple of times I tested that fight against the Black Bear Demon with the new poison routine in place, I found it annoying as hell - but decided not to "tweak" the boss' behavior to remove his poison attack because I wanted to leave in the desperate element of Wukong "needing" to find and enlist the help of his friends. He's a bit of an over-confident little twit, at first - and having to endure that tough battle all alone certainly would show him just how difficult the Tang Dynasty would be to survive in alone.

At any rate I hope you have some good luck defeating the demon and progressing. There's a lot of neat stuff to see and do as the adventure continues.

I believe I am at the end of chapter 3 now as I have just entered the shrine tower. Yes, Zebbe is right, the game does get much better after you get your extra members.

Glad to hear you're having fun. The character development and humor picks up along with the fun, as the other party members are added. Pigsy especially has some choice lines.

I did like one of the lines inside Lion Town or whatever it was called as you traversed downwards that said Hey Hey -- Welcome to the next level!

I got even further today, but have also got stuck.

I'm in chapter 6. I just defeated the 5 spiders but when I got to the 6th one he ran. I tracked him down in the cave that's on the opposite side and killed him though. My question is, now what? I can't go past that spider thing, it's still a barrier. Also I went back to the cave full of spiders and all the spider bosses have respawned, but they don't do anything. I don't know what to do next.

Wow, this one seems to catch everyone off-guard.

There's another boss inside the Demon Valley, that you must defeat before progressing. After you killed the final spider you left the area before finding this boss. Go back, find him, kill him, and your path will be clear.

Cool. It's always nice to hear the result of someone playing the game all the way through - getting the whole experience. And I'm glad you enjoyed the ending.

Our next game will be another new RPG for the Genesis / Mega Drive, and it's been finished for a while. We're just doing final testing + production, and then it'll be announced + released.

Is this a completely new game from scratch, or is it a translation?

I promise I won't ask any more questions!

I'm afraid I can't shed any more light on it just yet.

Since you're one of our customers, however, you will receive an e-mail once the new game is officially announced.

Well, I'm stuck. I'm in the last half of chapter 3 (how the hell do you guys all get to chapter 6 so fast?) and I was just accosted by "the official" in the Capital. I was replaced with an obviously fake Wukong and now I can't get back into the Capital and ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE is given as to what I should do next. I've been everywhere, talked to everyone, nothing. It is said that I have 3 days, but there are no days in this game. Maybe I have to stay at the Inn 3 times? I have only done so twice. If that's the answer, I will slap myself. Protip for next game: Give clues.

Hopefully it arrives in time for Christmas, either way though you can count on me buying it

A hint appears in the black portion of the message below.

Wukong's doppelgänger isn't hanging around any of the towns; he's hiding out deep within a remote cave. When found, he'll do his best to play tricks on Wukong and his friends, but eventually they'll be able to subdue him.
