Pardon, but I couldn't connect your username here at the forums with your real name and e-mail address.

I just sent you a shipping confirmation e-mail and a second e-mail which answers your question more directly. Again, thank you for your patience.

To anyone who is thinking about buying the game and would like some more information beforehand, there are a number of reviews, both professional and casual, available as direct links from the Legend of Wukong press page.

    Thanks for your interest.

That Blistered Thumbs video is BS. He rates Wukong at #1 before he even ordered the damn thing. What the hell is that guy doing, just guessing? If he is doing that, why is he harping about missing Beggar Prince and Pier Solar? He also gives a speech at the beginning of his video about how he will judge, in part, about how the game uses the system's capabilities. Wukong does nothing that a 1989 launch game couldn't/didn't do.

Oh well, at least he mentioned Insanity. The Turbo community needs more love.

    Hey, Brandon.

Do you plan to add GamesTribune reviews for Wukong and BP to that press page? I don't know if you're only interested in english texts for that section, which I'd completely understand.

    Best,

    Carlos

Yes, I most certainly do. If you recall, when you asked me about it before, I said it would take a while because I must pull the relevant pages from the PDF, then piece them back together and convert + compress them. Pardon, but I haven't had the spare time for that just yet. However I'll do my best to post those features before Christmas.

We proudly post all related press, in any language. It's wonderful to have such support from media outlets in other countries.

I'm sorry if the delay has inconvenienced or upset you in any way; it's not intentional and there are other features aside from the Games Tribune ones that have yet to be added.

Oh, don't worry. I only wanted to let my boss at the mag know when/if any of our content gets "recognition". No problems at all. I can send you those individual pages in PDF/JPEG format if you like, too.

Expect another nice review when Star Odyssey is released

I read somewhere that Star Odyssey has music by Noriyuki Iwadare (Lunar series, Grandia series, Warsong/Langrisser series, Devil Crash etc. etc.). I don't know if it's true, but it makes me more hopeful towards the game .

I assume you're referring to the initial print run ? I didn't notice anything buggy about Beggar Prince and I only vaguely remember reading anything about it.

He didn't rate it for the amount of fun he had. The way I understand it is that the purpose of the video was to inform people who perhaps never heard about retro games being made for old consoles.
And Wukong made #1 because that was the game he personally was the most excited about.

Considering the list may only include games that can be bought new and straight from the original developer or publisher, not ebay - on a list like that there'd be no doubt I'd put Wukong on #1 as well!

I have played Batte Kid (there's a free demo) and while it is decent indeed and definitely a must have if you're a NES collector, it is harder (and in the consequence more tedious) than ANY other game I have ever played.

Zaku looks pretty interesting and it's an original effort but it's on Lynx.

Wukong however is a new game for the Sega Genesis.

I am not quite sure what to make out of your recent posts. You seem to be harping on SFT's games (and their work in general) like no one else. What gives ?
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

^ Ha! Didn't see any bugs in SFT release of Beggar Prince + "Harder = more tedious"

Have you played Battle Kid ? - http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/mes...threadid=22324

And no, I didn't notice any bugs in Beggar Prince.

No, I haven't played Battle Kid. But a harder game doesn't make it more tedious by default.

If you didn't notice any bug in Beggar Prince, you were lucky as hell. Every other hour or so I noticed something glitchy. The fact that you can use up that Sun Instrument before you need it and in the consequence lock further progress, is a glitch in game design!

Well, it's hard because it's tedious. The first obstacle I ran into (two guns) took me literally minutes to destroy. They take like 100 hits, are almost impossible to hit due to the almost non existing time frame in which your projectile has to hit its target, and instantly respawn if you move out of the screen.

Are you sure you haven't played the initial print of Beggar Prince ? I played the third print.

What? That was left in the game? O_O

Allow me to be flabbergasted for a second here. I played through Beggar Prince all the way to the end some years before the SFT release, and couldn't beat the game because I used up all the Sun Instrument pieces, not knowing they're required to beat the game. After all the stuff I heard about the new release getting so many bug fixes and all, I'd think of all bugs, THAT would have been fixed :s

Was it even fixed for the second release?

The manual of my third print copy of Beggar Prince says the sun instrument can only be used twelve times, and tells the player to be careful when to use it, as its power cannot be regained.

OMG! I'll repeat: I'm going to buy EVERY SINGLE GENESIS GAME EVER MADE!!! There's no reason to get technical about anything. If I must rephrase (elaborate on) my original question, if I haven't already:

I'm two clicks away from ordering this. Should I buy it?...

...or should I wait until I've purchased every single game on the Genesis that currently costs $47.99 or less Mint CIB to Sealed?

...More to the point. By the time I finish buying every RPG on the Genny that belongs to that price range above, I shall be moving on to more expensive ones like Shining Force 1 and 2, then off to Beggar Prince, Wukong and, by then, Star Odyssey.

All is good. Now let's have a drink.

Yes, this is correct. More specifically, the Star Odyssey soundtrack was composed by Hiroshi Fujioka, Isao Mizoguchi, Ken Suzuki, Noriyuki Iwadare and Yoshiaki Kubotera.

The Genesis / Mega Drive version of the soundtrack can be downloaded from the Project 2612 website, in VGM format (which, with an appropriate replayer plugin, can be listened to using WinAMP) -

Star Odyssey (Blue Almanac) soundtrack download, recorded in VGM format

The game soundtrack was also issued as an official OST in Japan, albeit re-recorded using cheap (ugly) synth instruments instead of simply recording the Mega Drive versions (which, if you ask me, would have been a preferable choice) -
