99% of ebay sellers inflate the price to cover packing and handling.

I don't think you can find out the postage value of a Paypal thing - like other prepaid stuff, it's hidden - which is why sellers seem to prefer it!
I tend to think a pound or so above the actual postage cost is reasonable.
If you could see the price of postage on the auction before you bid, then really you shouldn't complain. If someone charges too much for postage for your liking, then just don't buy from them. Personally I just decide what I want to pay for an item by combining the postage and bidding value, doesn't bother me what the postage amount is if the total price is good.
Unless of course you bought something like a big table, and naturally paid lots of postage, and you get a tiny dolls house table instead.
you see the price but you don't know the weight of the item. so you can be screwed
moreover in combined shipping, you often get screwed. you don't know the shipping charge until the last minute. they inflate the price. I once paid 32 pounds for 8 games bought at 1 pounds each. that's 24 pounds in shipping. I cried foul and he said he had to pay for the boxes which were old printer boxes. Wtf? He gave me like 4 pounds refund but that was yet very expensive.
I hate sellers who think they can cover RUNNING costs with the shipping charge.

The best thing I've ever done is paying $30 or so for S&H of my Phantasy Star III guide from the US of A. It felt really good, because since then I ALWAYS check/ask what they demand for shipping to the Kingdom of Sweden. I've never done that mistake again!

I've actually done a lot of business on eBay, both as a seller and a buyer. As a buyer, I hold the seller to the same standards as I do myself, so $5 shipping for one game is reasonable, even though I charged less. As a seller I've found that as competitive as your shipping costs may be, there is always going to be someone wining and bitching at the other end because the postage cost wasn't EXACTLY what they paid.
Then there are those soulless bastards who seem to feel that charging $10 to ship a game from Colorado to California is acceptable, which is why eBay is now putting caps on the shipping costs
