It's not an exclusive to PS1. There's the GC version don't forget. And it looks much better than any emulation enhancements that PS1 emulators give to the original (or DC).

Itīs not a GC-version of the game, it is a complete remake, using absolutely nothing from the original afaik. So I do not count it as the same game.

But The Twin Snakes are indeed what would interest me the most on the poor Cube.

But what about all the other great games for the gamecube?

    Resident Evil
    Smash Bros Melee
    Super Mario Sunshine (to some)
    Zelda: the Wind Waker
    Metroid Prime
    Eternal Darkness

Let's not forget that, for a while at least, Resident Evil 4 was exclusive to the cube

None of those games would count as a system seller to me. Maybe Zelda would have been attractive to me, but after hating the Phantom Hourglass I have lost my faith in new Zelda games.
Smash Brothers is crap in every incarnation. RE Remake is nice, but still only a Remake of a game I know. And RE4 is nice, but for me a disappointment because it is just an action game and lacks everything that made the series great.

Maybe Baten Kaitos is interesting though. But it still has not convinced me of buying the system, eventhough itīs only 20 Euros on eBay.

For some reason, I just didn't like The Twin Snakes nearly as much as the original. The gameplay just seemed a little off.

...and since we're on the subject of Gamecube:

Super Monkey Ball (SMB Deluxe does not count)
    Tales of Symphonia
    Wario Ware
    Pikmin
    Paper Mario 2
    F-Zero GX
    Metroid Prime
    P.N. 03
    Geist
    Chibi-Robo
    Billy Hatcher (seriously)
    Go! Go! Hypergrind
    Kururin Squash
    Mr. Driller: Drill Land
    Zelda Master Quest
    Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
    Skies of Arcadia Legends

I would have to say Zelda on Snes because is the only game I really seem to enjoy on the system.

I bought the Genesis back in the day just for Golden Axe.

In all fairness, the RE remake was as much of a direct port as Twin Snakes. I think the enhanced graphics, alternate control schemes, and additional areas and subplots distinguish it enough from the original.

RE2 and Nemesis were more or less direct ports, though.

I didn't like the RE remake. It couldn't decide what it wanted to be. At times it felt like a straight remake with just slight differences, and other times it felt like it was trying to be a new game. All the hype about it was that it was so remade, it was like an entirely new Resident Evil. But judging it as a new Resident Evil isn't favorable to the game, as it's a step backwards from Code Veronica in many ways.

The selling point on the Gamecube for me is an american version of Ikaruga and Pikman...I don't have a gamecube, but if I did, those two games would sell me on the system.

I'm fine with the Japanese version of Ikaruga. Shooters don't need to be in English, and Dreamcast (as well as Gamecube for that matter) is very easy to play imports on.

Oh I agree, but obtaining a Japanese copy of Ikaruga for the DC actually entails work. Just about every local game store around here has a Gamecube copy though. If I had either system I might care, but if I only had a Gamecube those two games would be enough.

I have neither system, though I did have a Dreamcast and I had several Japanese shooters for it...Rez was my favorite, but highly overrated once I actually really played it for some time. If I only had one or the other and didn't care about price or hunting down, the DC Ikaruga would certainly suffice.

don't forget it was also on the PS2 Sonic Mega Collection as a retardedly inaccessible unlockable: you had to go in and leave EVERY SINGLE GAME 50 TIMES to unlock it. Fuck that, I'll buy the cart for $5 thank you very much.

edit: omg, I need everyday shooter, its phenominal! java version plz!

Ah, well, I haven't seen Ikaruaga for Gamecube for a long time. I have no idea how hard it is to get for DC, because I preordered it back in 2002.
