Yeah, the NOACs are cheap, but the reason they exist at all is because the demand was and is high. Mega Drive and NES are still among the most widespread systems there, although the competition got stronger over the years.

I talked to a guy from China not long ago and he told me that even today everything other than NES and Mega Drive is pretty rare.

    ...pretty cool thought actually
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Magical Hat Flying Turbo Adventure is just Decapattack. THough it looks a lot cooler in many ways.

decapattack rocks and all, but this game is very cool in and of itself.

Power Instinct / Gouketsuji/Goketsuji Ichizoku is one of the best beat 'em ups on the Mega Drive! Well, I enjoyed it anyway - hence the avatar I spent ages looking for mine, but they seem to be relatively plentiful at the moment. Anyway, if you like beat 'em ups that don't take themselves too seriously, and/or Japanese weirdness, you should get some enjoyment out of it.

That looks a lot cooler in appearance than the western Model 1.

Why do the Japanese always gimp their hardware when they send it here?

Some cool ones like tetris, MERCS, XDR, Fireshark...cool games.

    $150 for the lot...did I get a good deal?

I really dig the blue reset button and blue start buttons on the controllers.
The blue reset button screams "I am cool" to me. The extra-large 16-BIT just screams.

IS power Instinct a good game? Never played it.

In my experience, a bootleg cartridge of Tetris is worth approx. 3€ / 4$ / 15 Pesos on the South American bootleg market

I've played Power Instinct and I found it to be a very good fighting game with some great animation and that the arena can be made bigger by breaking boxes either side of the play area.
The only thing I don't like is that the sprites sometimes flicker and it hurts my eyes after a while.

Well, I used to think the same but I have to say that it looks a lot better in reality/person than on photos.

Can you post the box and/or car of Tetris? Maybe it's not a bootleg.
