    Default Any PC gamers here?

So I'm building a new PC(that im actually gonna keep) and its costing me a little over 400$ since I dont need a OS, KB/M, monitor, case, etc. So im building a gaming PC so im either getting a 4850 or 9800 GTX. Anybody else have a decent PC or play PC games?

I'm not happy with my 8600GTS because Crysis doesn't run too great on it, but otherwise I'm happy with my AMD 64 X2 4000+, 2GB of DDR2 @ 800MHz... I need another HDD, 250GB I have is filled with games...

I chose to build one about 7 months ago rather than buying a new console.
I'm happy with my decision so far.

    I got a q6600 oc'd to a little over 3.2GHZ and an 8800 gt card.
I haven't played any games yet that the card can't handle, and I can still
overclock it later if I need to.

The processor idles at about 45 degrees c, so hopefully I'll be able
to replace my ruby orb cooler with a blue orb 2 soon.

Right now, I'm trying to get through Painkiller + expansions and
trying to get gold in all of the Trackmania United tracks.

    I love Trackmania.
It's such an awesome racing game.

I'm currently waiting for the gta 4 pc release.
Hopefully, I won't need to upgrade yet.

I just purchased a Inspiron 530 and it works very well with new games like Warcraft III, Call of Duty, and some others. The on board graphics chip (Intel) isnt that great though and I will be having to upgrade when I find the cash and time to do so.

I would consider myself a PC gamer I guess because I have more games on my computer then normal programs. Its getting to the point where I have so many games that I have no time to play them all.

    I'm going for a 1GB ATi HD4850...

It should do all that I want it to do...

Yea the 1GB 4850 will prove its worth whenever AA is enabled. Last time I checked though the 1GB 4850 was around 209.99$, why not get the 9800 GX2 thats on newegg. Its a recertified card but for 219.99 I would snatch it up. Then again, the 4850 has a slightly better picture for pictures, games, and movies BUT THEN AGAIN the 9800 GX2 is the better card for gaming but then again the power supply has to be able to handle that card.

I've given up on PC gaming. I'm sick to death of the upgrade hamster wheel.

Console gaming is so much easier to deal with.

I gave up on it too... but seeing I spent so much on that PC... why not buy a decent card?
