I didn't even know the USA had a video game team:
My love for the 7800 is undying, and this commercial just further enhances that love. AND I FINALLY KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE KARATEKA! My life has new meaning...

Nothing will beat the Sega Scream ads. Ever.
Nintendo tried with "Play It Loud" but they just came off looking like douchebags.
Hold on . . . is this guy actually an olympic athlete that they paid to pitch the 7800, or is he actually part of a group of "video game experts" that I read about on 1up.com? I heard they wore matching jumpsuits like that.
I gotta find that article now . . .
Really, are you kidding??
I thought it was just Atari b.s.

There used to e a real "US National Video Game Team" and all they pretty much did was obtain high scores in arcade games and endorse products. Donn here even wrote for EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) for awhile which boasted endorsement from the team as if it were something special.
I'm digging up the article right now. They were a bunch of goobers.
Didn't they put out an instructional video (or a series of videos) with tips for the NES or something?
I'm still not convinced that the US National Video Game Team is a real entity.
I imagine it like this:
Guy 1: I Like Super Mario Brothers.
Guy 2: I like that game as well. Hey, you. Do you like Super Mario Brothers?
Guy 3: I've beat it once or twice.
Guy 1: Lets start a group and call it the "US National Video Game Team"!
Guy 4: Can I join? My mom said she'd make us uniforms!
They're real. It's all about the high score on ancient arcade games.
Alright, alright! They're real!
Sheesh, I never said they weren't.
I'm making fun of them because the article I read did so, and suggested that I do the same.

I always liked the Blast Processing Commercial for the Genesis best. After I saw it I Really wanted a Genesis a lot.
Ha. The 7800 sucked. Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong Jr. were very old by then, Impossible Mission was literally impossible on the 7800, Karateka is an awful port, and the two sports games shown absolutely blew. I guess Desert Falcon was okay. The only worthwhile 7800 games were Food Fight, Scrapyard Dog, Midnight Mutants, Ballblazer, and Ninja Golf.
This is the best commercial ever:
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
