Default burning Genesis Plus for Dreamcast

    http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/index...DC-How-to-burn

I'm trying to follow this tutorial, but all the ROMs I have are in ".gen" format. I mean, you can rename them to .bin or .smd and they still work, but they are not .zip like the how-to calls for. Does that matter? If so, does that mean I have to either zip them all individually or re-download them as zip files? I wish things were easy like Nester DC

In this case I think it doesn't matter, but that Gen Plus, is not a good emulator. I'm looking for the best genesis emulator for Dreamcast. All of my emulators suck in sound quality, this included...

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice...

really? I thought Genesis Plus was supposed to have good sound...

I have the Obsidian ~400 ROM version, I'm trying to get the 800 ROM version. It kinda sucks because the ROM list is so random and without any kind of rhyme or reason. Also, some games just won't boot for some reason: NBA JAM won't work, but NBA JAM T.E. will. Sparkster works fine but Rocket Knight Adventures won't boot. I think it may just be a bad burn, but either way it sucks. At least the graphics are near perfect for most games, the sound tends to come off as NES sounding, though its really growing on me for Rockman Megaworld since they are all NES games originally and the Genesis music remixes are TERRIBLE with accurate Genesis sound.

My Gens disk sounds just fine. The only real problem is that is buggy on a few games and usually the ones I want to play.

I think, sadly, Obsidian is the best Genesis emulator at the moment. The video is near perfect on almost every game I've tested, but the sound seems like its straight from the NES. You gotta make do I guess...

Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can get Obsidian compatible with SelfBootInducer so I can burn it with my own ROM list instead of the random assorted mess on the torrents?

.... I can't remember the name of it, but I have that Genesis emulator that was basically a hack (which apparently makes this ultra-super-duper-illegal) of the Smash Pack. It works really well.

If I remember correctly, it isn't up for download in many places. I had to scourge various message boards to find someone who would share it with me.

If you could tell me HOW to share it with you (though I use them constantly throughout my day, I'm still pretty close to computer-illiterate), I will.

That's Obsidian, there are torrents for it everywhere, but, unfortunately, the only torrent that seems to work is the smallest one of about 400 ROMs (hit or miss list, really random, some Japanese and Europe versions when a US version exists).
