Default My Unconditional Love for Call Of Duty 4

I normally don't do this - profess my love for games outside of the 16-bit era. I can only recount one instance, Resident Evil 4.

But I can't go on living like this... I have to say it: Call Of Duty 4 is in my humble opinion, the best first-person shooter of all time! The single player is great, but the multiplayer is unbelievable. Who would've thought that rpg-like progression would work so well in such a western genre? The progression, the perks, the weapons, it's all beautiful stuff.

Is there anyone else here that loves COD4? Xbox360 or PS3?

I have to agree with you on this, I have spent many hours playing multiplayer, got quite a few mates involved! It`s such a fast paced and full on game I too love it!

It's an utterly brilliant game, but the Call of Duty bits underneath put me in a raargh-controller-smash mood - stuff like omnipotent, respawning enemies and the fucking dogs. Why does the Mile High Club achievement taunt me so

Sneaking through Prypriat, and the helicopter gunship mission, and that explosive plot twist halfway through the game were my favourite bits.

The game lacks sci-fi so it automatically becomes a poor FPS for me.

Nah. No more WW2, enough is enough is enough. COD4 did current events!!! very, very well - hopefully COD6 will be sci-fi or something.

Not sure I'd totally dig a sci-fi COD, since sci-fi shooters are a dime-a-dozen. I'd prefer they keep the modern setting and simply bring in newer and cooler weapons and gadgetry. If you want awesome video game hero gear, you need not look farther than what's currently being developed for the actual military.

One of the reasons I bought COD 4 was because it wasn't set in WWII. Still the multiplayer hooked me, and it's why I'm back again for World at War.

I never really thought of myself as a certain type of gamer, but I'm starting to notice a trend. I love games with tons of customization. It explains my unhealthy love for both COD 4 and Animal Crossing, two games which couldn't be more different.

I picked up my copy this morning, and I'm having a blast so far. Let me know if anyone else joins in on the fun.

    Sorry about your RROD.

But have you played Viva Pinata? I've heard it compared a lot to Animal Crossing, and I'm right on the verge of picking it up.
