Default Why wasn't I born in Japan? Dam you Fate!

    Hi everyone,

Its 10:25 AM on a monday morning and I'm in my pen in slaveland attempting to find some import games to buy for my DC. It seems that many new cool items have came out over seas but sadly never made it here. Some people have suggested play-Asia and Ebay yet I believe I may be too late. Prices have sky rocketed and are around $150 each title. Alas it is a cruel world.

    Titles that I'm looking for

    Karous - Release Date 03/08/07

Under Defeat - Release Date 03/23/06

    Ikaruga - Release Date 09/05/02

    Very Sad

Now I know how a Sega Saturn enthusiast must feel like.

Well, living in Japan probably sucks, but their games definitely do not.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

Japan is very is a claustrophobic place to live, from what my dad tells me. He's gone on several long business trips over there (one of which was 2 months), and he said that the reduced space took a lot of adjustment-- and he used to be a sailor. It's not just that us big clumsy americans have trouble fitting, it's also that Japan has less land so they try to be more efficient with their space, which isn't always comfortable.

The food is very different too, so many westernerns tend to lose a lot of weight within their first month or two there (not that we can't stand to shed some pounds, LOL). My dad says it's a very interesting place to visit, and I'd love to be able to some day, but I don't think that I'd want to live there. Whenever my dad has to go over there, I just hand him a list of crap I want him to bring back, and usually he's quite good about it. He actually got me an Ascii Gamecube keyboard controller to play Phantasy Star Online with, which would have cost me $120 if I'd ordered it through an importer. Good ol' dad was definitely my hero on that day.

i don't get why Ikaruga for the DC is still so expensive, you'd think the price would have dropped since there was an american GC release...also it's kinda fun hunting down imports, I like where I was born.

My shelves look crazy 'cause of the imports, cool stuff.

Yea, I can only imagine the madness which is there metro-transit system. Another bad thing about there is that land is so scarce that everyone is forced to live in these giant apartment buildings. Hell, just bring over the games and leave the conjestion over there.

I'm going to start buying a few tomorrow. I have to wait though because I just got a new visa card and it activates in 24 hours so I'm kind of screwed.

It`s probably just as well I don`t live in Japan as I would terrorize the streets... there are only so many places the Japanese girls can hide!

I might put orders in for Japan!

My section supervisor was in japan before this and she was it was pretty cool...
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

They have such a odd culture there.

Their sense of humor / entertainment is sometimes bizarre.

Have you seen any of their candid camera episodes or gameshows? Its like someone let a bunch of mental patients take over a TV studio.
