So, In the cafeteria for breakfast, one of my good friends, Nick, came in and earlier this month we were talking about old games and I mentioned I like to collect and clean them. So this morning, Nick walks in the lunch room, he pulls out a big square grey mouse pad with a grid pattern on it with nintendo branded on the bottom corner. An Snes mouse (my first time seeing one) and a copy of Mario Paint. I had never seen any of these before and I was ecstatic to see that he kept these in grat shape. So fast forward to about 4 hours ago, He came over and we popped in Mario Paint. We started animating and composing and all the while he was telling me stories from his memories with his SNES (that he kept with all his games, still has them today) afterward he told me, " You know, Maybe I should also start collecting". That got me happy, I thought to myself that I converted another great person away from shitty Guitar Hero sequels and spinoffs and the wasteland of current gen games (with a few exceptions). He also said that, he'd be happy to sell me games and vice versa because after seeing my closet filled to the rim with air-tight containers of cartridges, he'd be happy knowing they'd get a good home. I also tried Doom on SNES with the Mouse and the mouse pad is a thick, stiff plastic. It's about half of an SNES cart thick and about a 2/3 the size of a keyboard. So, I felt like an idiot playing doom because, I start pounding the mousepad because my brain gives me the illusion that I have a keyboard in my lap, so I start pounding with my fingers in the general area on the mousepad, then I realize " Oh, whoops SNES". Plus, the SNES port would be so much better if I could type, because playing Doom with a keyboard, I have the controls programmed in the back of my skull, it's like riding a bike. Overall, I am glad he let me borrow all of his Mario Paint stuff, I am halfway done composing "Mr. Blue Sky", I'll post a youtube video when I get done.
