Yes, specially the South Pole was and is a somewhat classical challenging stage.

That's a great detail. The clip it's short but memorable, it has an special "feel", what a game. If the concept of adventure exists in gaming, it starts with Quackshot.

Now that i think about it, that's a fun-challenging factor, which somehow makes it more enjoyable somehow, at least from my view.

Indeed, further development in more advanced systems could have been great.

So today not only did I play this game for the first time but finished as well......with the cost of using quite a few continues.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this game. Yeah it wasn't face paced action but something simple and relaxing to pick up and play.
I admit though that I was getting REALLY frustrated around the final level where you have to jump from exploding branches to the next.
But yeah overall this brought a smile to my face when I was playing through it. Music was good, difficulty was alright and I have no complains for the controls.

Also my copy came with the Treasure Prize insert and I guess I understand now why I don't see it that often with other CIB copies of the game, because it was a registration sheet that you had to mail back once you were finish with it.

I took scans of it if anyone wants to play with it, contest is over though so don't expect anything after solving it, lol.

Hey guys, I really love this game! It looks great, sounds great and plays great. It's just as good as Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion I think. Having said all that the fact is...I'm stuck! At the risk of sounding really stupid can somebody tell me how to get passed the room that keeps repeating itself in Transylvania? I assume I'm missing something obvious. That bloody ghost keeps killing me!

There's sets of brown blocks on the floor which you can destroy with the bubblegum, the second pile of them contains a brown block in the middle that you can't destroy - jump on this one and you'll ride it up to the top of the area where you can use your plungers to climb up the wall and continue up from there.

The game tries to trip you up as well because it does this a second time, only the key is to not destroy the second pile of blocks and instead plunger it to climb on top of them and then climb the wall above those.

Ahhh...excellent! I will try that next time I play it, thanks!

I always loved this game as a kid. Wish they'd made a sequel. It's such a shame Sega lost the Disney license, they did some nice things with it. I'm curious what they might've made later in the MD's lifespan.

Sega certainly did make some great games with the Disney license. Or rather I should say Sega of Japan made some great games with the Disney license.

Indeed, then Fantasia happened and ruined everything for everybody.

Agreed. The first 3 games Castle of Illusion, Quackshot and World of Illusion were all great especially relative to their release date. Would have been really nice to see what Sega of Japan could have done with a 93-95 release on a 16-meg cartridge.
Beat Em Up- Streets of Rage 2
    Platformer- Sonic 3 and Knuckles
    Run and Gun- Gunstar Heroes
    Adventure- Story of Thor
    Action- Shinobi 3

Very true. I think it's pretty neat seeing just how much the team improved while working on those three games too. I'm not sure, but it was mostly the same guys working on all of them, right? Either way, they would have done remarkable things in those later years, for sure. Certainly something more enjoyable than those Virgin games, which were nice to look at but didn't play all that well imo.
