    Default ninja games

Do you guys know of any games featuring ninjas for the genesis outside of the shinobi series? It seems there we're tons of them on the nes but for genesis all I can think of is shinobi.

Depends on what you mean by Ninja, Tmnt, 3 Ninjas, etc. But I think I know what you mean. Ninja warriors was supposed to come out for Sega Cd in the U.S. buy never did. An arcade port of Ninja Gaiden is floating around in rom form but never actually came out.Thats about all I can think out

Shadow Blasters is certainly worth a look. There's 4 ninja characters to choose from, and 2 players can play at the same time. It's not as good as the Shinobi series, but it holds it's own.

Can't say I'm a fan of Zool: Intergalactic Ninja. Standard cartoon-y platforming fare.

Joe & Mac could count as a Ninja game. The arcade and SNES versions were entitled "Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja." It doesn't have a lot of traditional ninja qualities despite being a decent game.

Mystical Figher is a laughably bad beat 'em up with Kabuki-based characters. Not exactly ninja, but hey.

If you've got a converter to play Master System games, there's a wealth of ninja love available:

Alex Kidd In Shinobi World is a really fun albeit easy parody of Shinobi and other games. The first level boss is a Super Mario-esque character who throws fireballs and shrinks!

The Cyber Shinobi is often forgotten about, and with good reason. Pretty disappointing.

Kenseiden reminds me of Shinobi in a good way. You play as a swordsman in fuedal Japan or China (terrible that I don't know which). Definitely has a ninja feel to it.

Ninja Gaiden on Master System trumps all the NES games. It plays just like said titles and features an all new story.

The arcade port of Shinobi is awesome. I've always felt Sega missed a great opportunity by not releasing a port for Genesis, but the Master System game does a great job.

Finally, we have The Ninja. If you're into ninjas - and who isn't? - you need to give this shmup a look. That's right - it's a ninja-themed shmup! It plays pretty well for an 8-bit vertical scrolling shooter, but it can get frustrating if you don't collect the green scrolls needed to clear levels. Aw, who cares? It's a shmup starring a ninja who attacks with Chinese stars! Sweetness!

The Genesis version of Zool is extremely bad, I'm having trouble thinking of many ninja games for the MD at all I guess...er... Maui Mallard is kinda' Ninjarey, Mazin Saga has a kinda' robot Ninja/samurai in it, Dunno, as you can see i'm pretty much clutching at straws here, for samurai's you've got Samurai Showdown and Second Samurai, which I always quite liked for the brainless action and 2-player mode but many people seem to dislike it.

What more do you need that Shinobi 3? That is one of the greatest games on the Mega Drive. I will also join in the Zool contempt, it is an uncontrolable nasty little game.

other than Shinobi and TMNT I can't really think of a Genesis Ninja game that really caught my eye.

I remember I wasnt too happy with the Genesis version of Ninja Gaiden. It seems like a bad Streets of Rage clone.

The Genesis "Ninja Gaiden", which was supposed to be loosely based off (or at least inspired) by the original coin-op, was never completed or released. The ROMs out there are of an incomplete beta. For good reason too.......it sucked.

Kinda like how they thought Ninjas would make golf better on the Atari 7800

"Ninja Golf" is the greatest idea for a game ever.

In fact, should there ever be a remake of this classic, the underwater segments where you wander around killing sharks with throwing stars should remain intact.

Golfing Ninjas that kill sharks. <---That whole sentence is complete jawusumness.
