Gems Collection Question

Hey, I'm probably going to get a PS2 and a disk swapper. I'd like to import the Gems Collection. I got a question though: I want to play Sonic CD with the Japanese music, so do I import the Japanese or PAL version? I know that the PAL version has the us music on if the console is in english. Can you switch it to japanese? I really know nothing about the PS2. I'm asking because the PAL version is really cheap and common on eBay, but the few japanese copies are $40+. I want to know if I should spend the money on the JAP version if I can get the PAL one and still be able to have the Japanese soundtrack. Any help would be appreciated.

Get the Japanese version, I heard that the PAL version got the North American music, which is odd considering the PAL Mega CD version had the Japanese soundtrack. Personally, I like both the North American and Japanese soundtracks overall, there are tracks that I dislike in both versions though.
