I dont think I'd buy this game even if it did come stateside, classic console games tend to have a problem with them not being fun when they go on a mobile platform (see Mega Man 3).
Sega-16's Resident Sports Authority. Chief Heckler of the Midwest.
Next up on the tee:
Tecmo Super Bowl III
Bass Masters Classic
Am I the only one who noticed from the screenshots the lazily re-used SoR2 sprites? They drew Blaze's SoR1 costume onto her SoR2 sprite. Their re-using Elektra's SoR2 sprite for the whip ladies w/hats from SoR1. I bet they'll re-use Shiva's SoR2 sprite for the long-haired ninjas from SoR1.
Adam didn't make the jump simply because there was no sprite for him on SoR2......they couldn't re-edit Max or Skate's sprites, and they're not going to draw a new one for him.
I'd kill for another 2D SoR on DS or PSP. I wonder what is keeping Sega? Oh yeah they rather make dumb Sonic spinoff games like this.....

Wow, they palette-swapped Sonic to black and gave him a binocularse. Plus he looks more like Zero the Suicidal Acrobat or whatever his name was. Cool!

Actually those seem to be upscaled and redrawn.
I don't understand the problem with recycling some sprites though,
it just makes the game look more like SOR2 which was apparently even in their minds the pinnacle of the series.
And SOR1 Blaze looks very well done, I would love to see what they've done with the bosses.
(Though i can't help but think that they've probably upscaled the ones they couldn't replace with sor2 counterparts)
(like Abadede / Bongo / MrX)
"Why aren't Sega making the videogames I want?? I'm a SEGA fan!! Make me videogames, SEGA!!" *throws e-tantrum*

It could apply to anyone; I just dislike some videogamer types' entitled attitude. Like they're owed something for bothering to play games in the first place.
GAMERS: We're sick of the constant trilogy cycles, 'episodic content', and lame copycat games that are plaguing the industry! We want fresh, original games with interesting concepts and compelling stories!
CAPCOM: *releases Mega Man 9, Street Fighter XXXVVII Double Plus Turbo XL Edition Remix*
GAMERS: OMG MUST BUY, GOTY 2008
~6 MONTHS LATER~
GAMERS: Creativity is dead! We're sick of unoriginal game concepts and endless sequel releases! We want fresh, original games with interesting concepts and compelling stories!
You get the idea.
(would anyone have bought MM9 if it had a more 'modern' look, with the same 'hahaha fuck you' difficulty?)

I understand what you're saying, but I can't really understand what you propose as to how people should feel about it, as when they get attached to a game series and thus the company that pays the game's developers, but instead of continuing a good relationship, the company decides to suddenly steer towards an entirely new direction and give out established brands to entirely different developers... I am referring to Golden Axe Beast Rider and similar cases - like Sonic 3D Blast: Flicky's Island, Sonic R, Fantasia, etc. pp.
I'm a progressive thinker but a conservative gamer, and I think most people are similar in their gaming taste and stick with games by certain developers whose previous work they used to enjoy.
Some developers actually treat their previous work with respect - see Megaman 9, New Super Mario Bros., Fantasy Zone 2, Thunder Force 6, etc. pp. but things like Golden Axe Beast Rider, Revenge of Shinobi GBA, etc. pp. I cannot accept nor tolerate.
Now I can accept if a developer takes a different approach. Sega Rally, Space Channel 5 and Rez are by the same guy and I love all three. Sonic, Ristar, Nights and Sonic Adventure are very different games again by the same developer and I respect all of them but prefer Sonic and Ristar.
I hate Sega because I loved their employee's games and I were dissapointed by way too many of the company's business decisions during the past 15 years.
The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.
Then we set about developing killer games.

Aeon Flux also scarred me as a child. I remember in one episode when Aeon perversely makes out with Trevor... totally blew my mind. And of course a few years later I was also really into it.
Haven't seen the Alexander one yet. I know Peter Chung did the character designs. Supposedly there is a new Aeon Flux animated series coming out too. Hopefully it is completely different from the movie.
