    SNES SNES controller issues.

Is it common for the controller ports on (any version) of the SNES to crap out after a while, or am I just "lucky"?

    You might be "lucky".

In my life I've used/tested numerous SNES systems and I don't recall any having controller port issues.

Maybe the controller ribbon is loose on your system board?

I checked and double checked the ribbon on two consoles. No problems there, The controllers seem fine, too. One system, the older lego brick SNES simply won't take any controller at all. My newer, smaller SNES is giving me shit. The controllers work for a while, then they arbitrarily pause, or just stop working altogether. It makes no sense that I'm getting issues out of four controllers.
