Talking Military Madness 2 (Neo Nectaris) for mobile phones

It's Neo Nectaris made for cellphones:

The military is back and is madder than ever in Military Madness 2, the sequel to the hit mobile military strategy game! Take the fight from the Moon to Mars through 48 new maps! Wage war with 8 new units, from the medic Teknik to the gargantuan Bioheiki bioweapons! You can even battle a friend with local multiplayer on one phone! By Hudson.

Neo Nectaris was originally released in Japan for the PC-Engine Super CD-ROM2 / Turbo Duo in 1994, five years after the original game. Neo Nectaris was slated to be released in the U.S. as Military Madness 2, it was on TTi's release list, but it never made out since TurboDuo was dead. Now finally the game is being released, in modified form, for mobile phones.

Neo Nectaris was not quite as much fun as the original Nectaris/Military Madness, but it's still better, gameplay wise, than 90% of the console/handheld turn based strategy games out there, including R-Type Tactics / Command for PSP and the Advance Wars games for GBA & DS.

Cool! A love Military Madness. But are you sure it's based on Neo Nectaris? The battle graphics looks different.

Looks awful. The TurboGrafx version has much better grafx. Look how distorted and squished those planets are. Planets are round, not super-ovals. Whoever did the grafx is a retard and deserves extensive diarrhea sessions.

The title screen is from Neo Nectaris, the battle graphics have been changed but that one wierd unit is from NN also. I'm 98% certain it's based on Neo Nectaris, I just don't know exactly how much has changed. It's not really a new game though.

1.) it's a PC-Engine CD game adapted for cellphones, don't expect great graphics.
2.) this is a strategy game, the gameplay counts, not the visuals.

I have always wanted to start playing miltary madness since I've heard about it on and off for the past few years. I'll have to see where this argument goes to see if I'll try it or not.

Also, Joe, your quote I have on this post is now officially sig material. I am using it.

Just get Advanced Wars: Days of Ruin. It's better.

Military Madness is cool. Military Madness squished on a cell phone? That's like playing a version of Ghouls 'n Ghosts where Arthur's feet do not properly go behind the grass!

Graphics aside (and I prefer those new battle graphics), at least you can finally play the game in english.
