    .

RE4 (I'll take Progressive Scan and better textures over the PS2 port)
Rogue Squadron 2 ( This launch title sold me on GC )
F-Zero GX ( Sega really nailed this one )
    Metroid Prime
    Zelda: WW
    MGS: The Twin Snakes

I'd put Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart under the enjoyable category, but they didn't hold my interest to the end. I'd also put titles like Star Fox Adventures, P.N.03, Paper Mario, RE: Remake and maybe Tales of Symphonia in there as well. But, I've never been a fan of Super Smash Bros.

Sadly, I've never played Pikman, but I'm sure I'd enjoy it and Pikman 2. They could most likely fall into my "about 6" category.

About the only thing "P.N. 03" had going for it was a main character that people found hot.

The game got boring because it was the same boring, sterile indoor environment.

All of those other than MGS & RE4 were in my "8" count. I also had Prime 2, Pikmin 2 (one of the few sequels that's actually better than the original in just about every way), and the Zelda: Collector's Edition (cheating a little bit on that one). I also had the RE Remake in there.

I'd agree with all that. I owned and completed Mario Kart & Sunshine, but I don't think they were as good as other entries to the series, so I wouldn't consider them "must-owns."

Pikmin is pure Miyamoto goodness. The original can be picked up quite cheaply, but Pikmin 2 is often 2 or 3 times as expensive . . .

    .
I didn't include Zelda: Collector's Edition, because they are essentially the same games you could play on the NES and N64. I'd sold Prime 2, because many felt it was inferior to the first and I only have so much time to play games. RE4 goes on there, because I feel it's not only the best game on the Gamecube, but also one of the best games period.

I agree with you about RE4 100%. The only reason I didn't include it was because I no longer have it in my GameCube collection (thus I forgot about it completely), as I sold it in lieu of the superior Wii Edition.

And you're right about Prime 2 - it isn't nearly as good as the original. But it is still good enough for me to throw it in with the other reasons to have a GameCube.

I'm quite surprised that nobody is mentioning Eternal Darkness, as far as i'm concerned that and Metroid Prime were the defining titles.

Other games I liked were -

F-Zero GX - it may be an update but jesus what a phenominal job, also Sega did actually bring some of their own style and feel to the game which wasn't apparent in the earlier iterations.

Zelda Four Swords - This game is actually one of the funnest 4 player games I've ever played, great memories of screwing over my mates in this (Many years after it came out of course as GBA's were way too expensive to buy four of on release)

    some pretty good games -

Luigi's Mansion - way too short but I found it quite fun while it lasted
Billy Hatcher - People moan about this game but I like it a lot, it will always hold a place in my heart too as I bought it as entertainment for me and my friend when he wouldn't leave me alone after a messy breakup with his girlfriend, it was the only thing that would take his mind off her long enough to stop his incessant crying like a baby.
PN03 - Someone mentioned it earlier, I do actually think it's an alright game, very old school, I like the style and music quite a bit too.

The demo wasn't all that interesting to me, but I've been meaning to pick it up on the cheap, because it is a unique Sega title.

I mentioned it. It's a little odd at first, but once you get a grasp of the gameplay, it's a pretty decent game.

Ah, no. The SNES had piles upon piles of great non rpg games. It would have to, because the SNES is may fav system and I hate rpgs with a passion. It was GOOD AT ACTION GAMES, despite what most genny fanboys will tell you. The 16 bit war is over. I never hated the Genny back in the day. It's time Genny fans admit the SNES was good, too. Time to grow up.

Yeah, people tend to overlook great games like Hagane, Wild Guns, and Sky Blazer on the SNES. There are a ton of awesome action games on it.

Don't quite understand the logic here. The SNES was fail? It was a terrific system, Nintendo still had good third party support, DKC, and Killer Instinct looked great, and the RPGs man were there a lot of them. It was a worthy contender to the Genesis. Both consoles hold a great deal of my childhood memories.

As for the Wii well thats different. I really prefer the GCN but since they had horrible third party support with several big games, and since there were so many droughts after the first two years of being released, it wasn't a huge success.

The one thing I have to give the Wii credit for is that it's bringing more people into gaming, making those new comers a little more open minded. Who knows how many of those gamers will actually go on to play the harder stuff or even check out the library of games on the Virtual console.

    Sorry for the double-post guys.

I would say that the GCN had pretty good third-party support, especially coming out of the N64 crater.

    GCN had Capcom. 'Nuff said.

They didn't get Okami or the Devil May Cry games, among others, however.

I am curious as to why Capcom stuck so closely to Sony with the DMC series.

Okami was an unfortunate oversight that they at least tried to correct on the Wii.
