    This is fun

When I got my DC, it was in constant use for a week... I did eat and sleep though, but I had one close to 24hours session

If I had the time to do it, I would, frankly.

Right now, I just dont have the right games to play DC for 24 hours straight.

I should have bought some dreamcast games over break, but I did not, and I have beaten or played through all three of the ones I have (NFL 2K2, Crazy Taxi, Soul Caliber).

Is it true that playing sports games on the DC is probably the best experience a sports enthusiast can have?

Cause a lot of sports fans say that picking a play with the VMU is probably the best invention yet for sports games.

I'm not a real sports fan so I just want to know if the Sega sports games on the DC still hold up against present titles.

Also I noticed that NFL 2k2 got a 9.9/10 review

I have played all the EA and 2k basketball games up to 2k9 and everyone I tell this to thinks I'm crazy, but NBA 2k2 on DC is my all time favorite basketball game. I play it way more than the new games. Its really shitty for most people when they first start playing it, but I have been playing it for so many years that I mastered it hardcore. I learned that the gameplay is way better if you only use the left trigger(puts you in guard stance) very sparingly and typically only use it (I just click it instead of holding it down) to get squared up to the ball carrier then release it. If you just hold L trigger all the time on defence it slows down the computer too much and the gameplay becomes dull because they can't drive on you. The other thing to do is when the computer gets into the paint for an easy layup or dunk press right on the D-pad while simultaneously pressing the R-trigger and a lot of times if you time it right your forwards will block it. Either that or he will intentionally foul. No Easy Buckets!!!
There really is something special about the gameplay when you get it down. Today's B-Ball games are all Flash but I hate the way they make the players move. Its like they programmed the players to move in certain ways up and down the court instead of just letting you have total control like in 2k2. It took a lot of practice to master the art of getting to the hoop and how to effectively use the juke moves. The computer also tends to lock on to you if you have turbo going so I only use it in certain situations. I like having the camera zoomed in pretty close but not all the way and I like it from an overhead behind view instead of from the side.
I have several different rosters saved but my favorite one I took the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s allstars players and put them on random different teams making some teams extremely badass. I created a really gangster Michael Jordan and put him on the bulls with Rodman, pippen, Hoe Grant, Ker etc(the unstoppabulls). I created a bunch of really awesome Ballers like Lebron and Danny Granger and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
Its just a really good basketball game and it has the best dunks and when you get good it seems to really play like an NBA game. I love the old Dreamcast slogan: Dreamcast, its thinking. I swear when Im playing a season the computer holds grudges and Plays hard in the playoffs. Occasionally I have to try really damn hard to win. It just has this classic dreamcast feel to it.
Anyway sorry about the rant but it really is an underrated gem.

I did 12 hours of playing Shen-Mue II once I got that game. I couldn't put that game down! Those were great times!

The play selection with the VMU is pretty limited, in comparison to using the screen.

NFL2K2 was defineatly a great sports title, back in the day, and one of its biggest selling points was online play. Madden didn't have online play, on consoles, for quite some time.

Yeah, I have NFL 2k2 and it is pretty tight, almost like a predecessor to the ESPN (now All-Pro Football 2k8) series. I did spend a lot of time on NFL 2K3 way back when. I played through a few games of it, and I didnt even notice that you could pick plays with the VMU.

I also had the PS2 version of College Hoops 2k2. I think that game was off the hook, even though the free throw system was poorly done. I probably played 10-15 season on that game. For some reason, I would go through the whole season as #1 before the conference tournaments and then like the worst team in the whole game would shoot over everyone and be #1. Didn't end up affecting anything, but I always thought it was weird.

I will have to devote more time to NFL 2k2 though.
