Default Lost in the Arcade: Capcom Games

Lost in the Arcade returns with another installment of those great coin-ops that we never got to experience at home. This time, we take a look at some games Capcom decided to leave behind. From such greats as Alien vs. Predator to cult favorites like Varth: Operation Thunderstorm, Segaphiles would surely have loved to enjoy any of these ten games on their Genesis, Sega CD, or 32X. Check out our full report.

An AVP port for the 32X would have sold a ton of 32X's imo. What a great game! Capcom made some great beatumups back in the day.

Warriors of Fate had a release on the Japanse Saturn, I think it was Tenchi-somethingoranother 2.
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

I'd almost forgotten how beautiful mid-90's arcade games are.

Hey Melf, sorry if I sound rude, but you used a picture for Night Warriors in the Darkstalkers part.

I don't want to sound like an idiot or anything, but what program do you use to emulate arcade games. I thought there were only console emulators!

Nice article. A few games I didn't even remember.

Darkstalkers (1) wasn't on Saturn, only Playstation; Saturn got its two sequels but not the original.

I think 1941 Counter-Attack and 1943 Kai deserved a mention. Sure, they were on PC Engine, but Genesis ports would've been nice.

I liked the article. So much nostalgia with all those great capcom games. They sure bring back memories.

    Tenchi-somethingoranother 2.
Tenchi wo Kurau 2. Nice game. Not easy to find though.

Wonder 3 also made it to Saturn BTW (it was part of Xing's arcade gears series). It is rather expensive but not nearly as big a waste of money as a PSP.

only if sega 32x got those titles,i liked the system a whole lot better,it could handle some graphics, most games i see on 32x look better then gba in my uppinion,Then people maybe nagging about metal head, jsut for fun caompare it to driver 3,maybe youlle retrie those words,Gba beeing way of later date then 32x and still have the worsest 32bit graphics, still its handheld oke i understand that therefor it looks fine.i just think 32x could do better then gba.

    From the article:

When you think about it, there really isn't anything overly special about Aliens vs. Predator. It's a run-of-the-mill side-scrolling brawler that doesn't even push the arcade hardware it's on. Many people are quick to point this out. They conveniently omit one important detail: it's got freakin' aliens and predators killing each other! Back in 1994 (and even now, I'd wager), this was enough to sell gamers. Heck, I would have bought a 32X for this one alone.

The thing about the game, outside the license (atmosphere can mean a great deal), is that it just feels great. Compare its gameplay to the original FF and I think you can see the difference. Moves far better and it's paced more like a great action film.
