Default What game should I get for a 5-year-old?

My soon to be 5-year-old nephew really loves the Sega Genesis I gave my sister and her husband. He's got a Wii downstairs, but he really loves playing Sonic 2 on the Genesis that now sits in his room (very excited about years of playing Sega classics together!)

Are there any quality games you'd recommend for a kid who will enter kindergarden in the fall? I know he's got Sonic 1 (part of the six-pack cart I got for them), Sonic 2, and Taz-Mania. Any other suggestions? I'd like for him to grow up with an appreciation for great games.
God loves Genesis so much, he put it in his book!

Toejam and Earl is great for little kids, and you can play with him if you like.

Castle of Illusion is also a great game with adjustable difficulty for kids. Also, any of the Streets of Rage games, since they're basically button mashers (or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Hyperstone Heist if you want your video game violence a little more cartoony).

That's a pretty tough game though, especially for younger children. I would go with one of the more simple Disney games made by Sega.

Aladdin, Ristar and Castle of Illusion are good ones already mentioned, also maybe OutRun and Earthworm Jim 2? Both of those games are great, and also games I could get pretty far into when I was a wee lad.
