    Sigh....

I decided to buy cables from ebay. Bought one MD2/32x/Nomad/smth to SCART. Works perfectly.

Bought one SMD1 to 32x cable.

Both from good rep sellers. And guess what, same freaking problem. The only comfort in this is that im not a retard. Atleast my cabling wasnt faulty. I've had them right for a long time i guess. SO, hurray for me, i can solder... :P

Guess its something wrong with the 32x. Im gonna get some isopropanol and clean every contact on the 32x, including the ribbon-cables inside.

Hope that works. If not, any other ideas?

EDIT: Just grabbing this out of the blue. Is it possible that the cart is broken? All I have is Doom32x

Well, as I know there's one cable between the 32X and the Md1 which is for the model with the text "Mega Drive PAL-G" or something like that and one cable for the model with the text "Mega Drive RGB". I don't really know but here you got two links to both of the cables.

Maybe you got the wrong cable. I have two cables for my Md1 and 32X and they both works fine with Doom.

I got the PAL-G one, and my SMD1 is also PAL-G. So that shouldn't be the problem. Theres got to be something wrong with the 32x. The seller ensured that he tested it before he shipped it, but I don't know.

It wont work with the RF-cable either, same sync problem and its all in black and white. Same with 16bit games through the 32x with RF, its in black and white.

With the Scart cable 16bit games work fine through the 32x.

Gonna take another look inside the 32x tomorrow. Anything special I should look for? Except the ribbon cables?

And btw, the metal things your supposed to put in the SMD, they aren't necessary right?

I don't think that they're necessary. I'm using them anyway. I think that I have a pair of the metal prongs over actually but I have no idea if they works on a Md2.

It dosen't look like it's anything wrong with the 32X. Maybe it's worth a try with two metal prongs but I don't know how expensive/rare they are.

Try clean Doom and look if there will be any other results.

    That's strange.

Might be something that's possible to fix since the 16-bit games works fine. But if I were you, I should get my hands on another 32X-game and see if that works before trying to fix the problem.

Reseat the white ribbon cables. No? Clean those ribbon cables with rubbing alcohol. Those ribbons are problem prone.

I've cleaned them with alcohol and buzzed them with a multimeter, they are good.

I'm about to make my own 32X cables, is there a pinout to include any resistors or caps around anywhere??

As always, check the power supply.

Could one of the pins (like the sync pin) in the 32x itsself be damaged?
