I sent the cables and doom to Zebbe and they worked fine on his system. And he was willing to sell me a loose 32x unit. Got it today and it works like a charm

Gonna use the old one to try out the PAL/NTSC mod before I do it on this one.

One bad thing though is that I only get Mono sound with this setup. Gonna mod the cable with an additional stereo plug so no worries.

But should I put the stereo plug on the SMD1 to 32x cable or the 32x AV cable? would be easier to but it on the AV cable, but are there any technical cons if I do that?

If (read when ) I get a Sega CD will the above sound setup work? I've read something about the Sega CD mixing sound or something.

Are there any other guides out there? :S Don't trust gTranslate :P I haven't read it that thoroughly but if there is an English native it would be swell.

Watch out for ones that have a jacket that can yellow in the sun....thats about the only suggestion I have for them. And youll have changing the cables....I cant think of anything I hated more....removing a gas tank/propping it so fun.

That's what I did.
It's fairly convoluted though.



The genesis to 32x cable used to be a model 2 SCART cable.

I would put a cable between the MD1 headphone jack and the MCD mixing port and then 2 RCA cables from the MCD to a stereo, computer speakers or anything like that. Easiest and best way to get stereo sound with MD1, as it requires no modding and separate speakers are always better than those of the TV.
