It is a damn good effort for screwing around.

But if you excised the characters and altered the "system cleaning" font you could have a great cover that Genesis fans could use. Keep the red-stripe version and make a grid version and you'll cover both bases.

If I had the materials (scans), I'd probably make a case cover for my Game Genie.

I plan on doing the Game Genie too....Ive been looking for scans here and net and have really found nothing to help....Alot of SNES & NES boxes tho.

I like it! I've never been good at making covers myself. I could see myself using this design for my cart cleaner.

Please learn how to resize your pics before you upload them. If you know how to make these kinds of boxes, then certainly you know how to resize an image in the same application.

You want original reworks in hi-res like this...I can do it too.
Most of these had bad cardboard boxes or inserts that were destroyed. A few hours in Photoshop out comes pretty new inserts for cases.
And dont start ripping on me about the SOR2 box, the guy I did it for wanted it setup like that.

The BROTJ was a totally mess, Rips and holes,water damage,fading.... And my scanner put about as much reflection on it as the flash of the camera did here.
But I just redrew the missing parts and got a perfect copy in the end...Just took alot longer.

Well if you post an image, expect to get some constructive criticism. Remember not everyone is going to think your work is "perfect". Keep doing what you do, your insert reproductions are very good. Just for the cleaning kit it would be more suitable to have the old black grid. And also if you're using the new style red box, don't include the old style grid GENESIS logo. That was eliminated with those style boxes.

I don't mind the typeface for the title, but I don't think it looks good on the spine in yellow. What really bothers me is that you don't have a proper margin before the bleed on the back.

Also, the G in Cleaning on the back goes over Dr Robotinik's leg. His hand covering the Genesis logo is enough, you could make the type smaller and then left align it with the body copy with the margin that you already have for the headline. It would be better.

I like the drop shadow a lot though. Gonna steal that one for myself!

If I do reprint I might change the letter away from Dr Robotniks leg..I was about to fall asleep at 6am and just wanted to see what it looked like printed since sometimes things look slightly different on screen, compaired to a 500dpi High quality photo paper print.And damn it my eyes hurt.
Thanks for the helpful eye tho, most I already thought about while doing it, I like it for what its worth...I did what I did cuz it worked and was tired...well like the lettering on the spine is better visability on my shelf and looks less smashed or bland as the other front text did on the spine. Maybe its cuz it looks great in person..who knows.As I said before this was just for a free time play around not a specimin of authentcity...I undetrestand purity and games and all that, if thats what I wanted beleive me I'd do it and do it to perfection...Id be able to fool yes even you. Done it did it will do it again. I did this a 4am no sleep and did ifor fun. Please understand Im not angry that you guys wanna crtique but please dont make it sound like Im trying to pass it off as the remake real release or something. Or that this is going to be anything other than a doddle or sketch you would do while in math class. That all it was to me, and I like my doodle..Its not going anywhere unless somebody really wants a copy for their collection and I can redo something for them or the community no problem.

And nunzio dont think this was directed at you, it wasnt. I just dont know why I CANT HAVE FUN WITHOUT PPL RUINING IT!
It was like look what my stupid tired brain made me do at 4am for a STUPID CLEANING CART..not a game......or look at my drunk dancing...thats all.

Now saying all that..... Nunzio what about the bleed...please explain.

I don't think anyone is mad or even claiming you are trying to pass anything off as "real".

I'd say there is an interest in projects such as this as there are quite a few Genesis items/releases that would be good to have included in clam shell cases.

"Sonic & Knuckles" is a #1 item that needs a high quality insert.

One tiny detail, Knuckles is stepping on the Sega Seal. Might move him over a tad so that he isn't touching it.

I just wanted to give some critique, one designer to another. I figure you want your stuff to get better because you look pretty serious about it.
