    Default Wolverine: Adamantium Rage

Anyone know anything about this game? Is it anything like X-Men 2: Clone Wars? I saw it for sale locally and am thinking about buying it.

If you are a fan of the X-Men, then I would recommend it, given that you aren't going to pay a lot of money for it.

I remember it being slightly difficult for me when I was about 12 or so, but then again I'm not the best video game player (save for Ms. Pacman and NBA Jam). It controls ok, kinda like a first-cousin to X2, but the AI can be really cheap (really, it takes more than one hit with Wolverines claws to take out a guard?).

    Good, but not great, game.
God loves Genesis so much, he put it in his book!

Next time I'm there I'll pick it up along with Ranger-X. They were 2.99 each. Seems like a good deal.

Wolverine: Adamantium Rage should only be played on the Genesis. The SNES version is butchered and ugly as hell.

I didn't even realize there was a SNES version.

As someone who initially owned the game back in the late '90's (and passed it off as hard-to-control crap from Acclaim), I gave it another try 10+ years later via emulator, and this time around dedicated myself to learning the controls and Wolvie's various moves. The result was a satisfying, hard-as-nails game with a great soundtrack. It does play somewhat like "X-Men 2: Clone Wars", but not exactly (they were both from different developers of course). Get it if you're patient.

I've played a bit of the SNES Wolverine, but it didn't catch my attention like the Genesis one did. I think that both are underrated games, and along with "Spider Man/X-Men" and "Maximum Carnage" the only good Marvel games to come out from Acclaim.

Thanks for the input. I'm always looking for a good challenge, and I can't wait to go back to get this game. Both it and Ranger-X have been sitting there forever, I don't know why I haven't gotten them sooner.

Ranger X is a great game; for $2.99, you should snap it up!

Yeah, definitely get Ranger-X asap! That game is a steal at 3 dollars. I would recommend you play it with a 6 button controller though.

I wish they made more games like Ranger-X.........Games like that helped immortalized the 16-bit generation.

Well, I just got back from the game store, and I got Ranger-X. I decided against the Wolverine game for now, and instead got Chuck Rock 2: Son of Chuck for $3.99 in box. Eventually I'm going to go back for the Wolverine game, I just didn't have much money and I've wanted the Chuck Rock game for a while now. Two more goodies for my collection .

I've got this game. Somehow when I moved back from college this game was in my collection, no box, instruction, just the cartridge. I Played it once and put it away. Maybe I should give it a second chance.

I assume that they pumped up the price of Wolverines: AR because of all the Wolverine hype these days?

Yeah, they wanted 4.99, and that's probably exactly why. No matter how ridiculous and funny that is. Or maybe it's because the store is ran by an elderly couple who seem to set prices at random with their game stock. They might as well sell the carts cheap to me instead of letting them sit on the shelves forever, as I am probably the only person who actually buys Genesis games there. Every week for the past few months when I go back, they always have the exact same games, plus a few new ones. Genesis games sit for weeks on end, then they finally lower the price to a reasonable level, and I snatch 'em up. They have a really great selection of all systems though; a hoard of SNES, SMS, NES, and Saturn games.

Wow this game is difficult. I'm pretty good at his moves now but I'm still working on getting through the 1st stage! The timer always takes 1 life for me, so the timer seems impossible and cheap!
