Genesis games with best music

Yeah, it does, but only in one song that I can think of. And it may not even be a voice sample. It kinda sounds like someone yelling, but who knows?

I, for one, love voice samples in Genesis music. What would Launch Base (Sonic 3) have been like without them? Sucky, that's what.

Then again, I've always had a thing for voice samples in music. Probably why I love Hideki Naganuma's stuff so much. And garbled voice samples have never really bothered me. I dunno why.

I'm all for good voice samples, but as I recall Ristar's just sounded bad. The first time I heard voice samples used effectively was in the bonus stages in Shadow Dancer. They sounded clean and non-gargly and it was pretty cool. I don't know why any games have to sound gargly.

Yeah i know Go Go Go Yeah and then Joe falls down to destroy his enemies and how about mic and Mac’s Global Gladiator adventure that one had some good voice samples. But i agree with Vyse what’s the big problem with the voice samples they sound gargling same for story of thor, they aren’t disturbing, TI da du or something that was what the music was or something first i hated it then i began playing the game and actually liked it, the music has good Trumps and more it just sounds good without Joes say about it. How about streets of rage 1 boss theme Joe Uh or something you heard that,als in shadow dancer in the second stage or something you’ll hear a funky song with samples, I never heard complete songs come out the genesis complete with vocals and stuff, except for are you ready theme in Global Gladiators, I think they put the voice samples on the DAC channel or something, the psg channels are also capable of allot strange and different sounds.

I hate to sound like a fanboy (which I am not) but I have to say Sonic. When Genesis game out it was a HUGE deal, and Sonic was the first game I really got into. Not to mention when you hear those songs, you don't only know its a Sonic game, you know its Sega. They're classic.

just listened to most of the Vectorman 1 soundtrack, it's pretty good sounding techno/rave musci, considering it's being pumped out of a genesis!

From a technical point of view it's no better than the average crap heard on the console. It's a far, far cry from anything by Koshiro or Jesper Kyd, or even Howard Drossin. On the other hand, the arranged album is excellent.

The music in Shadow Dancer (stage 3-2) has a great sound to it.. Also, how about Viewpoint's, scratchy, 90's sounding samples? Here is a sample I put together for use with some of my releases

Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2 and 3
Knuckles' Chaotix
Batman

Thunder Force 3 and 4, not so much 3 to be honest, 4 has much nicer music.

OutRun - Yes, even the Genesis port has the classic arcade tunes, also sounding great on the YM2612 soundchip.

You know what has good voice samples? Global Gladiators. In the opening song. In fact, that opening song made me like the game more.

My personal favorite music comes from Sinic 3 and knuckles. Particularly the boss fights (Not fond of Sonic 3 stand alone act one boss music though.)

I would agree, except I think Sonic 3's soundtrack was, on the whole, better than Sonic and Knuckles' soundtrack.

I may have mentioned this, but I actually prefered the Genesis Ecco soundtracks to the Ecco CD soundtracks. I really think they captured the overall feel and style of the game more.
