Gleylancer isn't metal. It's synth. Good synth, though.

The only two Sega franchise that I can't stop playing. Sonic and SOR. All of the Sonic 1 songs are good. Sonic 2 were all good except the Casino Night 1-player version. Sonic 3 music was all good but the only good songs in S&K were Flying Battery and Sandpolis. SOR1 & 2 are the best VG soundtracks ever and SOR3 had some good one too; Stage 2 (streets and disco), Stage 3 Elevator, Stage 4 first part, and stage 7B (the stage you go to if you don't save the president/chief of police in time.) I really wished Bombergames would have made a remix of Stage 7B.

I can't believe anyone could be capable of enjoying the Ecco soundtrack.
Listening to that game makes me want to murder dolphins with tuna nets.

Do you know about the emulated version in .vgm format? It's at Project 2612. Um, I ripped it.

SUPPOSEDLY he did Crack Down in the arcade, which sounds close on the Genesis. AcidZero says this.

P.S. Beyond Oasis is one of the best game soundtracks of all time. Listen to it on headphones early in the morning.

Some good ones I often don't hear mentioned are Langrisser II, Traysia, The Immortal, Light Crusader, Super Daisenryaku, Mystic Defender, Quackshot. Also Final Zone, Space Harrier II, Ys III (perhaps the best version is on the Genesis). Jewel Master is outstanding, the first stage of Midnight Resistance is beautiful. Let's see... uh, Phantasy Star II is a great one, so is Sword of Vermilion. There's so many. Oh, just thought of another. Sorcerian!

How can you not enjoy them? They fit the games perfectly, and are on the whole just moody and atmospheric enough for delightful listening outside of gameplay.

Stalepipe, please note the button. That works much better than replying to yourself again and again. Ary also needs to take note of this fantastic space-age button.

Ys III (perhaps the best version is on the Genesis)
The best version is on the TG-16 CD/PC Engine CD by leaps and bounds. Ryo Yomenitsu for the win!

Yes, the Turbo CD version of Ys III is definitely ace, however it should be noted that the Genesis version is still miles ahead of the crappy SNES port.

Hmm, I found the PCE version slow and choppy, and don't really care for those arrangements. It sounds best on the Genesis, Famicom and PC88!

Yeah I love the way the music in Flashback just cuts in - very atmospheric.

I personally love the tune Splash Wave from Outrun - I know the Mega Drive rendition isn't that great, but I really like the actual tune.

Music by Yuzo Koshiro rules, as does most of the music in Thunder Force IV, as has already been said.
