The game was made by CRI/CSK so it is no wonder it has problems. Having said that, I just watched that YouTube vid and was extremely impressed by the scaling effects. How they managed to make a low memory MD cart kick the arse of that awful After Burner III MEGA-CD game, I will never know. It also looks a HELL of a lot better than the equally awful Night Striker MCD game. Why oh why did the dumbarses at SoJ put Outrun, Galaxy Force II (through CRI), G-LOC and Outrunners on cart? I will never understand it.
As for great quality music, I was really blown away playing GODS last week. That name entry music is amazing!
There are just so many threads on this...

I loved the Vectorman music with this being a favorite like pretty much everyone else
And I have to say most if not all the songs from Phantasy Star End of The Millennium is great. I like their arranged version of the Phantasy Star 1 dungeon theme.
Oh yes and before I forget this...from my favorite Shinobi game

I just came here to post about Dangerous Seed. Awesome soundtrack that's better than most other shooters released in 1990 IMO, as good or better than TFIII perhaps.
My top ten:
10) Midnight Resistance
9) Dangerous Seed
8) Thunder Force IV
7) Zero Wing
6) Gauntlet IV
5) Super Shinobi (tied with SS2)
4) Super Shinobi 2 (tied with SS)
3) Bare Knuckle
2) Bare Knuckle 2
1) ? Project Y ?
Honorable Mentions:
Vapor Trail, Panorama Cotton, Gunstar Heroes, Slap Fight MD, Vampire Killer, TMNT HH, Thunder Force II/III, Crude Buster, Puyo Puyo 2, Darius 2, Shadow Dancer, Ghouls' n Ghosts, Snow Bros, Mega Turrican, Jewel Master and Devil Crash.
I haven't spent the time with RPGs like Shining Force 2 to put them on any list yet.

So many pages to this thread, so mine have probably been posted before, but man, the soundtracks for Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: Tides of Time are masterpieces of synthesis. It's so amazing what hauntingly beautiful, mellow, forlorn, melancholy, unsettling, perfect tunes the programmers wrangled out of the simple sound chip. They are incredibly unique in the Genesis library. I know a lot of people prefer the Sega CD soundtracks, but not me.
One more!
In addition to being an absolutely kickass game, Elemental Master has a beastly OST reminiscent of awesome 80s synth rock! Check it out:
Just spectacular![]()
