Genesis games with best music

What I love about MD music is that everything sounds different. In fact two examples, Afterburner 2 and Darius 2, don't even really sound like they come from the machine at all to my ears!

Every now and then I plug in a sports cartridge to test out and I'm pleasantly surprised at how awesome the music is.

Sword of Vermilion (I don't like the game, but have to admit the music was pretty high-quality)

To me it has similar beats found in "Super Kids - The Tragedy" ... maybe not? There is probably a better track that is similar but it's too damn late to give my brain cells some exercise. It definitely has that early to mid 80s flavor.

Flashback (the Quest for Identity) had some eerie soundtrack. I loved every minute of it!

Gaiares, huh? Interesting choice. I always found a few of the BGMs a bit grating (stage 1 and 2 specifically), although there's defo some nice stuff going on later in the game.

Phelios is very good, as is Namco's other arcade shmup port Dangerous Seed which has some kicking tracks.

Mega Turrican = best PCM drums I've heard out of the machine perhaps? It's either that or SOR1. Zero Wing is another contender IMO.

Light Crusader has a stupendously good soundtrack. Seriously, it's crazy good. I need to get a second copy of this game... Just in case. It should be worth a lot more than it is...

Did a quick thread search, but sorry if this is a repeat. Scratch that, I'm not; it's one of the best tracks on the MD from an artistic and technical standpoint. Bring on the drums!
